A completely different perspective.

The unholy alliance of neoliberalism andnpostmodernism

"Neoliberalism and postmodernism are very different. Looking back at the last three decades we can say that in the West the left (in which postmodernism is firmly based) has won the culture wars, while the right (where neoliberalism first emerged) has won the economic war.

In neoliberal thought, that is the ideological expression of the rule of finance capital, society is reduced to economy. The most basic institutions are transforming into contractual arrangements. Neoliberals see as the driving force of human behaviour self-interest which is beneficial for society as a whole.
#Postmodernism aims to criticize oppressive systems of power by de-constructing ideology. It posits the ideological foundations of multi-cultural society, in the sense of a society in which numerous cultures (‘culture as a life choice’) live together but where the common roof is (almost) absent. Mainstream culture is denied or ignored while the cultures of minorities are cherished. The new cultural sensibility contributes to the silencing of the traditional social sensibility. The individual triumphs in the new postmodern condition, but is less protected. It is an an expression of contemporary fragmented society.

Nevertheless, there are some commonalities. We can say that postmodernism and neoliberalism complement each other.
Postmodernism is a belief system that mainly finds adherents in (formerly) leftish circles while neoliberalism mainly finds support in conservative segments of society. Within the broad left there is a division of labor: postmodernists dealt with cultural questions and were usually not interested in socioeconomic issues that were left to neoliberals. Postmodernism disarmed the left with respect to neoliberalism. Both ideologies* (postmodernism and neoliberalism) helped to focus people on themselves (or sub-culture) rather than the public good. As seen by many postmodernists and neoliberals, by distancing from ideology, philosophy of life and traditions the citizen got a lot of freedom in exchange for an economic definition of citizenship as a consumer.

Shortly after the fall of Lehman brothers (2008) there was a widespread opinion that market-fundamentalism had failed. However, everywhere in the Western world market fundamentalists are still in the driving seats. But neoliberalism has been adjusted somewhat to fit into the new circumstances."

A little light reading on a Sunday night and exactly 5 paragraphs. Well done. :)

It's what he does. It fills him with a false sense of power to offset the dissapointment in not acheiving any power in his life. He has no charisma, but feels he is "due" some sort status from checking various boxes in life and being tall. It should make him some sort of leader, yes?

He evidently finds great satisfaction in this pursuit as he refers to his sojourn here as "15 years of excellence!" Essentially, he lacks the stones to actually go out and hurt people he feels have wronged him, so he playacts here. Sad, truly.

And then there's Luke that defends B.J., never noticing that B.J. the sociopath never returns the favor. Sometimes slants the alts to frame Luke as cover. Never even a reach-around. Sad!

lolwut

It is funny though that when you accuse Luke as George, he shows up, and the Georges take no action to dissuade you of the idea. The actual puppmaster (as he, himself, terms the activity) wisely stays out of it unless his cowardice is highlighted, then he will make a brief, blustering driveby.

It's probably worth the distraction to see Luke embarrass himself even if pinning the Georges on Luke benefits George.

His ex came out of no where last night and ambushed me about I have no idea what. No one saw that coming, did they? :)

Wut, indeed.

Don't worry your smart little head about it. I'm sure that it's true that you are ever so much smarter and far less douchy in person. Probably just loses something in translation to this medium.

A decade of chasing alts has rotted your last firing brain cells. You realize that you spent an entire weekend here, doing this, right?

Here's a clue, dummy. Whenever you get close to nailing down which alt is controlled by whom, we collectively gasp a bit in chat, wondering if you finally got your white whale. Then we realize how fucking clueless you are and exchange PMs laughing and laughing at you. Sometimes, we switch it up to keep it fresh, not worrying too much that you'll catch us all slipping. You'll never get the spreadsheet, fuckknuckle.

Sounds like a worthwhile endeavor!
