I'm engaged . . . along with healing. It seems a good combination.

Erm. . . as in 'committed to another person' ?
If so, Good For You, Bear.

I came originally from the very far North West of Scotland and am quite certain that if this man's taste in women is half as good as his taste in whisky he has indeed won life's lottery. :)

Oh hasn't he just !

PS.
Chloe, I don't put whiskey in my coffee. (I have yet to try with some of the USA stuff), but I'll put a cheap brandy in my coffee. Insipid whisky in my Tea.
Decent Scotch is for sippin' . . . .

It's a bit early in the day for additives at present, so I'll settle for a good mug o' coffee, please.

Congrats! Live long and prosper!

I have no engagement stories. I don't even have any dating stories. My life was far less structured, more existential. Stuff happened, or didn't. Horrible fuckups abounded. Despite that, things have worked out pretty well. Wow.

My head is filled with lutes, viols, zithers. Or is that just tinnitus?

Zithers ?
Cost a fortune in strings, I'm guessin'.
Gonna have a go at a Dulcimer ?

I'm late as usual on Sinday. One large, hot, and black coming up. Uh, coffee that is.

I'll make a fresh pot and start over.

Congrats Bear. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Cold and cloudy. A nice day to stay in and maybe write some.

Oh, why, oh why
does it always have to be a "Disney" bear, not the original EH Shepherd bear ?

Coffee - please.

Okay, I will admit the copper pot Irish whiskey I have on hand works in the coffee, but it's a different flavor from what I'm used to. It's almost fruity.

All is now fixed (I'm pleased to report).

Well, it's not the original, but I changed it just for you, HP.
Thank you, me dear.

Try it with a little soda water or even (Heaven help me), Lemonade.
Just take it one sip at a time.
Notice how it warms its way down to your vitals. . . .
:rose:

But for now ('cos it's later), a cup of decent Tea please.

Is there such a thing as indecent tea?

Fish for supper so the brain is well fed. Cherry Vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Fresh coffee for the evening crowd and a fresh kettle.

Thanks! I'm doing better than I expected so far even though I've had rough days, too.

Do me a big favor and don't push it too far or for too long. Been there and done that back in the prehistoric times. :rose::kiss:

Great advice. Now you have to take it. I didn't, it wasn't a good situation. So follow the doctor's orders.

I silenced the OCD days ago. ;)

PT comes in three times a week and gives me exercises to do. When that's over, I have outpatient PT. This dinky town has a bus I can take there.

Zithers ?

Generally, a 'lute' has strings extending beyond the sound board. Banjos, guitars, mandols, 'ukes, ouds, are all lutes. Hmmm, does playing a violin pizzicato make it a lute? (Not quite.)

With 'zithers', strings DON'T extend off the soundboard. Pianos, autoharps, mountain and hammered dulcimers, sitars, steel guitars, are all zithers. I used to build mountain dulcimers and have a couple now, along with a Hawai'ian steel guitar. My zithers! But I'd like a bowed psaltery.

If served with naked lunch, sure.

That is great. A good day can make up for a couple of bad ones. :)
And a couple of bad ones can sink a week. These last two have been rough. We'll take a break now. Okay, no whining. Everything is beautiful. Except certain flaws...

Well, Yes, I believe there is.
It's where the idiot making it ( they can even get a teabag wrong), cannot tell the difference between Washing up water (used) and what's in the mug [and laughingly called 'tea'].

But for the time being, I'll have a coffee please.

Indecent tea outside a clothing-optional setting:

I grew up in Southern California, LaLa Land, of Midwestern forebears. Our tea was cold, thinly black, and sweet. Hot tea from bags was something we read about in stories of New York automats where broke customers spent cold nights nursing teabags, hot water, and free sugar cubes.

Then I found myself incarcerated in Toronto. Coffee was not served with meals. It was something they called 'tea', milked and sugared and thick as porridge. That was indecent tea. No wonder Canada was a minor power.

But I now like a raw Japanese tea called Genmai-Cha which is best with soy sauce. Most of y'all would find that pretty indecent. So sue me.
