Are you guys talking about that FBI text message thing that was debunked and proven fake? Its hard to tell, I'm pretty new around here.
Page was presumably talking about the Russian interference investigation. Why wouldn't a president want to stay informed regarding such a thing?
He thinks the FBI should be "his guys" and not a separate entity.
I do not talk to FBI directors about pending investigations. We have a strict line and always have maintained it. I guarantee it.”
A new report released Wednesday by a prominent Republican senator suggests texts between an FBI lawyer and an agent who was once part of Robert Mueller's special counsel team show that then-President Barack Obama was keeping tabs on the agency's investigation into the Hillary Clinton email scandal.
...the two had been tasked with preparing talking points for then-FBI Director James Comey because Obama apparently wanted to be kept abreast of the case.
In a Sept. 2, 2016, text exchange, Page writes that she was preparing the talking points because "potus wants to know everything we’re doing."
Keep squawking, Henrietta.So, who's flat-out lying?

Anyone here not aware that Hillary's campaign helped pay for the dossier?
Show of hands?
"Helped?"
All of the funding came either from the campaign or the DNC which was a wholly owned subsidery of the campaign and used just as a vehicle to launder large donations that would have exceeded campaign limits if they hadn't run them through the DNC first.
I would think developments should be part of the daily briefing.
I would think developments should be part of the daily briefing.
Developments of what? The collusion investigation was just beginning at that point. The email scandal was what was in the news at the time and Obama stated quite clearly that he remained distant from the FBI/DOJ on that and everything else.
Thus the question; why would the POTUS "want to know" about something that he said he officially kept away from? And HOW would Page and Strzok know he wanted to be briefed on developments? Especially if he wasn't involved?
The butt reamin' is a-coming. I think even Libs see it because the lies that usually come from the left aren't very loud right now.
Three days after Page sent her text, Obama confronted Putin for Russian meddling in the 2016 election on the sidelines of the G20 meeting in Hangzhou, China.
"In early September, when I saw President Putin in China, I felt that the most effective way to ensure that that did not happen was to talk to him directly and tell him to cut it out, there were going to be some serious consequences if he did not," Obama told reporters on December 16, 2016.
The September 2016 text also came months after Comey held a July news conference where the FBI director announced the closure of the Clinton email investigation and sharply criticized Clinton's handling of her emails at the State Department but recommended no charges against the former secretary of state.
And a subsequent text that Johnson released seemed to indicate Strzok only learned of new Clinton emails being discovered at the end of September, and it was weeks before Comey would reopen the Clinton investigation. Comey briefly reopened the investigation on October 28 -

So Obama was or was not COMPLETELY removed from investigations as he claimed, or was he wanting to know EVERYTHING. I don't see how it can be both.
There is no plausible deniability for him remaining if whatever all this distills down to is not able to be spun into the "nothingburger" that Dems are going to insist on cha4acterizing it, regardless of whatever it is.
“I can guarantee that not because I give Attorney General [Loretta] Lynch a directive, that is institutionally how we have always operated,” the former president claimed. “I do not talk to the Attorney General about pending investigations. I do not talk to FBI directors about pending investigations. We have a strict line and always have maintained it. I guarantee it.”
I’m not exactly sure what you are trying to say there. I have one word for you just the same:

Pssst.
*whispers* That is why it’s called “opposition” research.
Pssst. *whispers* The point is that the dossier is a work of fiction, the FBI never verified any information in it, yet it was used to obtain FISA warrants.

Verified: Former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page met with representatives of Russian state-owned oil giant Rosneft.
Page vehemently denied that he met with Sechin. But in November, the House Intelligence Committee released a transcript of Page’s congressional testimony revealing he had in fact met with other Rosneft officials, including Sechin's subordinate Andrey Baranov, during a trip to Moscow in 2016.
According to the dossier, Rosneft officials used their meeting with Page to push for the U.S. to lift sanctions on Russia for its support of armed separatist groups in eastern Ukraine. It is now known that the Trump administration sought to water down a proposed Republican Party commitment to send “lethal weapons” to Ukraine’s army to fight off the Russian-backed separatists.
Verified: The Kremlin targeted educated youth and swing state voters during its cyber attacks in the 2016 campaign.
Verified: Trump maintains ties to rich businessmen from Azerbaijan.
Emails released in July revealed that Agalarov’s publicist Rob Goldstone had written to Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., to set up a meeting with a Russian lawyer who supposedly had dirt on Hillary Clinton, as part of what Goldstone called "Russia and its government’s support for Mr Trump." Trump Jr. attended a Trump Tower meeting with the lawyer in June 2016 along with Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. That meeting has become a major focus of the investigations into the Trump campaign. Goldstone allegedly organized the meeting at Emin Agalarov's behest.
