"download story stats"?

on the author's dashboard "my stories" page there is a little icon on the upper right that says "Download story stats". what is this used for? i'm afraid to click in case i screw something up>

It downloads a CSV file of your statistics at the moment you loaded the page. It doesn't change anything, it's simply a snapshot of how things stand.

This CSV file can be imported into a spreadsheet program, and then the data can be separated into columns via menu options of the program into a true spreadsheet.
