WASHINGTON
The FBI is investigating whether a top Russian banker with ties to the Kremlin illegally funneled money to the National Rifle Association to help Donald Trump win the presidency, two sources familiar with the matter have told McClatchy.

FBI counterintelligence investigators have focused on the activities of Alexander Torshin, the deputy governor of Russia’s central bank who is known for his close relationships with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and the NRA, the sources said.

It is illegal to use foreign money to influence federal elections.

I'd be all for locking up Whiney LaPoopiepants and abolishing the National Ratchet Asses on grounds of being foreign agents.
What?! You mean that foreign spies have manipulated USA politics so millions of USAnians are encouraged to shoot each other, weakening the potential militia so they can't repel the upcoming invasion? For shame!

Ex-Trump adviser Bannon subpoenaed in special counsel Russia probe

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Steve Bannon, a former top adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, has been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury as part of a special counsel’s probe into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.

The New York Times, which cited a person with direct knowledge of the matter in its report, said it marked the first time Special Counsel Robert Mueller has used such a move against a member of Trump’s inner circle.

A spokesman for the special counsel declined to comment on the report.

Bannon, who recently had a public falling out with Trump over comments he made to an author of a controversial book, was meeting on Tuesday with the U.S. House of Representatives’ Intelligence Committee as part of its own Russia investigation."

I was watching the news last night, and they were liking this to Manafort’s no knock warrant. Saying Mueller doesn’t want the Republican led committee to get their hands on the evidence.

Current news on Bannon says he'll 'voluntarily' talk to Mueller's investigators in order to skip the grand jury. Unresponsiveness to a grand jury lands one in jail. I don't know how Mueller will motivate him to tell all, truthfully.

The quandary: Which shitstorm would be worse, firing Mueller, or what Mueller uncovers? Which could be better managed? Would a Gup Congress actually impeach and remove or could that be stymied? Could Tromp succeed by telling the rest of the government to get fucked? Like Andy Jackson told his own SCOTUS, "Go ahead, enforce your ruling, turkeys!"

Never underestimate Tromp's power to really fuck stuff up.

Effing things up is one thing he excels at. In this instance he was stopped back in June and it has stuck. A stance sticking when it comes to Trump is note worthy.

I think the deny and deflect will only go so far no matter how insular his base has become. The signs of a reckoning are there.

There is no legitimate basis to fire Mueller. The very legitimate concerns about inappropriate bias within the investigative staff can be adequately addressed by the DOJ Inspector General and Mueller himself.

But he didn't impeach Trump all Boondocks Saints style like the (D)'s all just KNEW he was going to do like a year ago already!

Clearly he needs to be fired because can't get the job done and the job is to put that fascist autocratic dictator down like all the #resistance wanted!

Ha! I sure had hit quote prior to your edit, but it really doesn’t change anything.

Abvs?

Unfamiliar with that term.

I'm a botanist...finest green has been an all day every day thing for almost ten years now.

The gif makes it work

Alcohol by volume. Come on what kind of beer geek are you?

I am going to assume the date is an exaggeration, and will add the only folks that have said this should have been wrapped up by now are Trump’s attorneys.

Ahhh

Depends...if I'm having a meal I'm open to anything not stout/coffee.

I like yeasty, dinner roll in a glass type stuff with your continental/European food.

Except Italian/greek...I like a nice double IPA with my Mediterranean stuff.

Otherwise I like cheap shit to keep me buzzing AND hydrated....Natural ice is a good one at 5.9% and only like 15 bucks for a case. :D

You?

Totally and I agree for the people who really matter.

Not really an exaggeration for some of the crazies out there, but they are unimportant beyond being great entertainment when prodded.

That's what I fear.

At what point has he nothing left to lose? When will he try to exert toxic, dictatorial control? How far will he try to go? He fucking commands the world's premier military force; what orders will he issue, and will they be obeyed?

Alas, firing Mueller should be the least of our fears.

I like most beers, except sours. Coffee stouts are among my favorites.

I still have some faith in the folks around him. He certainly dropped the idea of canniing Mueller.

He is doing a fantastic job of exposing corruption, just not the corruption that some of you knew he was going to uncover. The more this goes on, the less harm he does to Trump and the more damage that he does to his tight circle of friends and coconspirators.

This is what I don't understand: If there is nothing to find, if the Donald is innocent as so many of you insist, why not let this play out? When the Benghazi investigations started with Hillary I thought that it was a waste of time, but since someone thought there was a basis for it, let it play through. I really didn't see a problem with it until the 6th , 7th and finally the 8th investigation into the same damned thing, with absolutely nothing new being found as far as the Benghazi incident.

There is irrefutable proof that the Russians interfered with our election. We need to find out where, how and why no matter where that leads. If you oppose those aims you are either intentionally blind to the truth, utterly and incurably partisan to the point of destroying the country to cover for your political idols, or so stupid you don't know right from wrong.

If you supported all 8 of the Benghazi investigations and can say they had nothing to do with playing politics, but were the path to find the truth you should be whole heartedly supporting this one. We have a crisis going on; a foreign power has been influencing our election process. If you're comfortable with that, if you don't mind others tweaking our elections for their own profit and reasons, then I think we are in a position we may not be able to recover from.

Beast!!!! I wish I could, they aren't bad .....they just have a tendency to get my guts all upset so I just don't, especially if I'm out and about.

I don't believe, necessarily that they want him fired.
I think it more likely that they just want a lot of chaff in the conversation in order to discredit the counsel's findings if it happens to find extensive wrongdoing (not that trump supporters will believe anything was done wrong anyway).

Of course if it doesn't, then they'll say it's a victory.

It's all symptomatic of a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

When everything is corrupt, there can be no individual corruption.

Or at least, that's the way secular Trumpthink seems to work.

Classic two wrongs makes a right think.

Because evidence is emerging that shows the entire Mueller investigation was a frame up, the intention of which was to attack the Trump candidacy and to undermine and destroy the Trump presidency if elected. This is a Faux investigation without a specified criminal charge.

It was based on a dossier falsely fabricated out of lies with the help of Russian Intel actors, paid for by the HRC campaign, and employed by Deep State Obama holdovers to perpetrate a fraud on the FISA Court in order to obtains warrants to spy on the trump Campaign and transition team.

The main motive was the exoneration of Hillary Clinton, ridding themselves of Donald Trump in the event he was elected, and to keep him from appointing people who would occupy high positions of authority that would allow the exposure of past and present corrupt illegal activities of the Obama DOJ, FBI, White House national security personnel, and the corruption of the FISA Court itself.

You don't believe me fine. Wait for Chairman Nunes' report to the nation that is forthcoming. Former federal prosecutor Joseph DiGenova spells it all out here:

When everything is corrupt, there can be no individual corruption.

Yet, if anything (let alone the rare "everything") is corrupt, it is only because of cumulative individual corruption: NOTHING can collectively happen without the prime input of individual action.
