Schumer's shutdown reveals: Democrats will destroy America just to spite Trump

Donald Trump was inaugurated one year ago after promising to make America great again. Throughout the campaign everyone knew what he believed, though it was not clear what his opponents stood for.

The Schumer shutdown has revealed the totality of the Democrats’ agenda: animosity and amnesty.

Never before in American history has a major political party put the interests of lawbreaking foreign nationals ahead of the interests of law abiding Americans. Yet that is exactly what the Democrats have done in holding the government hostage to extract special favors for illegal immigrants.

Now we know they oppose not just the president, but American government, the American people and even the very concept of American citizenship as well. They call Americans “deplorables” and illegal immigrants “Dreamers.” That tells you everything you need to know about the Democrats’ upside-down world view.

This shutdown, which lasted the better part of a month, was all about whether to use economic forecasts from the Congressional Budget Office or the Office of Management and Budget to determine whether the White House’s budget plan would balance. The CBO was more cautious, and projected that Clinton would still have a $115 billion deficit in seven years under his plan. Republicans eventually caved after 21 days, and Clinton then proposed a plan that the CBO agreed balanced the budget. Some 284,000 workers were furloughed, in the longest shutdown in history

So that one was during Clinton.... Once again, the debt conscious gop were all in arms over adding to it.

Where was this outrage when trumps plan adds 1.5 trillion (or whatever it turns out to be, can the semantics) and requires funds from SSN and Medicaid?

The FBI has released new numbers that show violent crime in Detroit has spiked more than 15 percent in 2016. The numbers show 13,700 violent crimes which include murder, rape, assault, and robbery. Chief James Craig says they don't tell the whole story.

A new study profiling life in America's 62 largest cities has named Detroit the worst place to call home. WalletHub on Monday released its Best Big Cities rankings, which involve scoring the country's largest urban hubs across 50 metrics measuring affordability, safety, quality of life, education and health, and the economy.

The Motor City ended up bringing up the rear in terms of economics – a category that drew on local unemployment rates, poverty statistics and debt per median earnings, among other data points.

Detroit also ranked second-worst in terms of safety, with violent crime and property crime rates as well as fatalities and law enforcement employees per capita the factors considered. In a separate WalletHub report published earlier this month, Detroit was named the No. 2 worst-run city in the country. Several years ago, of course, Detroit filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection in what amounted to the largest municipal bankruptcy case in U.S. history.
