What "rebate"? Please define what you mean by that.

"Extra fees"? Fees for what? Please give specific examples of what you mean.

Rising healthcare costs? The only way the bill affects healthcare is that it does away with the individual mandate. This, if anything, reduces demand and thus lowers insurance costs.

Seriously, I'm not trying to be insulting here, because what you write is just all so confused, I think you have been misled.

Do understand that people who itemize still get to deduct SALT up to $10,000? That means only the wealthy will be "double taxed." I thought you wanted the wealthy to pay more. (This is why there are a small percentage of people in the upper middle class / lower upper class who may end up paying a bit more in taxes under the reform. We're talking people making from $300,000 to $500,000 per year in high tax states. Is that who you are worried about?)

For almost everyone in the middle class, the loss of certain itemized deductions won't matter. As it is, only about 30% of filers currently itemize. By doubling the standard deduction, it will now make sense for only about 10% of taxpayers to itemize, all in the upper middle classes and above. For almost everyone, doubling the standard deduction will lower their taxable income, which will now be taxed at a lower rate.

Having less of their income deemed taxable, and that taxed at a lower rate, is where the tax savings for almost everyone, including everyone in the working and basic middle class, will come from. As a result, in the next couple of months, withholding will go down and even those people who don't get a raise next year will see their take-home pay increase.

You get to keep more of the money you earn. Less goes to Washington. How is this bad?

To the thread in general. I don't think it's a matter so much of the percentage the rich and corporations pay in taxes--it's more getting them to pay any taxes at all. The Trumps are a classic case of wealth shielding--both individually in corporately.
