I wanted to start by saying merry Christmas / happy holidays , but i am new to this sight and was kinda sad that it seemed this sight was dead. I joined this sight just recently and have found nothing but bots am i doing something wrong ?

Change your privacy settings to invisible and that will solve most of the problem. A goodly percentage of mouth breathers just send cut and paste PM's to every single user who sounds vaguely female. I don't think most of them are actual Bots just people with little to no social skills.
