Hi,

Is the number after the story rating the amount of people that have voted?

For example, if it looks like: 4.66 / 76, does that mean that 76 people have voted? The other stuff seems self evident.

Thanks!

Second question: It looks like the amount of Favorites a story gets is all over the place. Stories with similar rankings have widely disparate totals.

Is there any rhyme or reason for this?

Yes, the 76 is the number of people who voted.

There is a rough correlation between score and favorites, but it's rough. Like you say, it's all over the place. My highest rated story is near the bottom of the favorites list. My most-favorited stories are only moderately successful in terms of score.

I don't really know why people favorite stories, but it's either a different reason than why they vote high, or it's different people favoriting and voting.

The number of favorites also depends on the number of views. If two stories have the same score but one has a lot more views it also probably will be designated a favorite by more people.

Then there are the people using favorites for a bookmark. Among those are also the people who just know you are going to write a second and third chapter to a stand alone story.

There is no rhyme or reason.
