Thank you for all that. I do drink tea , am married, have kids. I, like a lot (all?")of men here are looking to communicate with others, particularly women. I fancy myself a pretty intelligent guy, but I have no idea what this means. I claim to be a simple guy (even if it may not be true!), but how would one show another person who they are the first time they send a message without writing a novel?

I do like it when I do not have to explain things to a man. That has more to do with emotional and mental intelligence that it does with age.

It sounds like you have some preconceived notions (don't we all!) and expectations about how you want to interact with someone, or be treated, but you're only hinting at them without actually bringing them into the light.

What sorts of things would you prefer to not have to explain?

In my experience, once you start communicating to others how you want to be treated, you'll have a much better chance of being treated that way rather than leaving it to folks to figure out. This goes for friends, co-workers, family, lovers, and perhaps strange folks on the interwebs!

I think that, had you started with this, you'd be much further along than you are now, but you seemed to think that men should jump through hoops to drag information out of you or to write you some seductive message without even knowing if you're worth getting to know or not.
