Because they are debilitating, curl up, cry and vomit.
It's enough to get me out of visiting Ape's family for Xmas without anyone getting salty.

The "it's really fucking stressful for autistics!" thing is, apparently, not compelling enough.

But nobody wants me hemorrhaging on grandma's sofa

Xmas is balls.

Maybe you'll spit out the baby jeebus the zombie?
What a ghastly thought! And me passing as a virgin?!
His family would be overjoyed if I spat any brand of baby out, but that's never gonna happen *shudder*

i have
recently become
enlightened to
all it's
endearing qualities.
It creates some problems, but it also gives a unique perspective. I wouldn't want to be any other way (though it took me almost 40 years to feel that way.)

Having a supportive family will make all the difference

Today's world is a lot better, and his generation have a smoother path. There's a lot more understanding, much better support, the public are more awareness, earlier diagnosis, more support in school.

Look for the good things.

I just got done hemorrhaging for 6 days. I hadn't had a period for almost a year so I'm actually not surprised.

I'm spending christmas alone this year. Aren't you jealous???

I just thought that was your way of signalling anal for christmas.

That was too much information...
Women have periods, dear. By your age the word shouldn't shock or distress.

improved health, or yo-yo menopause?

Pretty fucking jealous. Weirdly, I miss working over Xmas. It's the perfect excuse not to.

Come to Wisconsin Pink!! My family would welcome you with open arms. I am hosting Christmas dinner this year, I am making all kinds of stuff we have never had before, and ham. My sister would be pissed if I did not make a ham...

Dolf, good luck with that. It is really good to hear that you embrace autism, and very inspiring. My youngest grandson is autistic. He is at a really good school and doing phenomenal. He is doing so well that the school district that he is in wants him to go back to public school instead of the school where he is excelling. To me, I think this will be counterproductive but we shall see. I don't understand why they would make him go to a place that doesn't understand the way he learns, has triple the students in the classroom, wont let him go to his "safe" space (every child in his classroom has their own safe space) where he can calm down when he gets agitated, and there is only one teacher in the room for all those children.

They are going to be here for Christmas and I have not seen them, other than skype, since summer 2016... It's going to be a wonderful holiday.

I'm guessing, if it's the same as the UK, $$$ is the answer to this question.

You are most likely correct. After he was diagnosed the school district made the decision for him to go to another school. They then had to pay for him to be bussed there daily and it is a little over a half an hour away. Granted he is not the only child on the bus, but I am sure they also have to pay some sort of tuition but when they were first talking about it, they told my daughter they get funding for this purpose. If they decide to make him try public school there is a private school that he can go to. His counselor told my daughter she would help her find the right grants to apply for because it is pretty expensive.

Can't you just tell them that you have your period, even if you don't? Its not like they're going to come inspect.
