I want to use the inn to pay tribute to my roomy and friend 'Supergirl'. Here at the academy we have to organise guard duty 24/7/52 which includes Christmas.

You know she's Jewish and to allow us to spend the festive period with our families she's volunteered for guard duty. Her example has encouraged our two other Jewish cadets and our three Muslim Cadets to follow suite.

She really is an incredible young woman and if I was a man I think I would fall in love with her Lol.

We are BOTH off for New Year's Eve and we're going to London to ring in 2018.

Slips into the old inn cleaning here and there. Sets out pastries and hot cider mugs, coffee, tea, and muled wine for the guests. Starts up the fire in the fireplace. Slips out back to cut firewood. Going to need it today.

I’m a serving soldier, top of my class here at the academy and the youngest ever to win the NRR Badges at my first attempt. But it’s at this time of year I feel my vulnerability and miss my family. Don’t get me wrong, I love the army, I’m proud to be a Lioness and I appreciate the support of the girls who are now out on deployment. Here in the inn I’m surrounded by love yet I would give anything for just one more day with my Mum. This is not a cry for sympathy, it’s just I feel I can share with you on here and with my buddy ‘Storm’.

No matter what God you worship I ask you to join me in praying for the safe return of the Lions and Lionesses, for Chris, Rick and my lover Steve. But above all for a world where children can grow up without fear of war.

Above all I wish everyone, Jew and Gentile

I'm doing a little better today, not quite as much pain. So less medication means a bit more clear headed, which helps. If I feel up to it I should start next Monday, but since I am unsure of pain levels I won't know until later this week. I'd be ok working if I was still on pain meds at night but would never go to work on them if at all possible especially starting a new job. Anti inflamatories like Advil would be fine but not narcotics

I’ve got some homework to do - got to submit my essay on military discipline my 10:00 hours Monday. But I have time to step forward and hug The Gladiator, kiss his cheek and assure him we love him.

Supergirl There is absolutely no reason to be ashamed of missing your family at this time of year. (Or any time really) You don't need to justify feelings like that. There is nothing week about it, we grow up with these traditions of family at certain times and as life and circumstances move us in different paths it is natural to pine for the good times past.

I miss my family at this time of year too. We are all spread out throughout the pacific and across several continents. It makes me sad.

That was very nicely said Uggg.
I lots my dad in January and my mom in October just over a year apart. Christmas used to be my time of year regardless of the weather or the country I was in. Now I'm trying to get back to that so that I can teach my daughter the magic of Christmas.

Uggg you are absolutely correct that it is not a weakness. If fact it is just the opposite.
Love, even for those who are no longer with us is a strength. It may not feel that way because of the pain you feel with their absence. But that too is a reminder of how strong we are because they were there for us.
