Matt Lauer latest victim of sex harassment hysteria

And why isn't our POTUS being brought up on charges?

He already apologized once, months ago. Now in this frenzy, he has backtracked and saying it is not his voice on the tapes. Yup...sure...

Because there wasn't sufficient "evidence" to warrant his stepping down. A jury of his peers in the body politic writ large gave him a credible pardon.:)

There is a fundamental unfairness about this, without justifying sexual harassment. A person's life and career are destroyed so easily? Based on an allegation? The accuser must be identified and be open to scrutiny.

I agree, but this is a civil matter at present involving a private employment workplace issue. Matt can bring suit in court if he feels he's been wrongly accused. We don't know the conditions of his release either, his compensation, or whether he accepted the conditions of his termination.

Yes! Let me ask you this: How does this shit happen in the first place? Aren't these obscenely well compensated assholes busy? I get up. I go to work. I work ALL day. At 5 o'clock I call home and ask my wife if she needs anything on my way home from work, and then I leave. I'm always with people. I don't go out to linch or dinner.Even if I wanted to do something inappropriate in the workplace, I wouldn't have time. People are not working hard enough and they have too much time on their hands.

I would like to know just how bad they were to deserve this.
Like, one or 2 taps on somebodies ass don't get you fired from a job like that.

Well, to fire the Face of the NBC News franchise, 24 hours after receiving the "allocation" that would have to be one hell of an allegation. Which, by the way was exactly how Matt posed a question to O'Reilly regarding his firing. Where there is smoke there is fire and at Matt and O'Reilly's level of the game - you can be certain it one big f'n fire.

This is ridiculous. Here is the total accusation against Matt Lauer:

Lack said it was the first complaint lodged against Lauer, 59, for his behavior since he took over as anchor of the show in 1997, but there was "reason to believe" it may not have been an isolated incident.

After 20 years, one unproven accusation and that's all she wrote.

Not a big fan of the literal meaning of the word "intolerable", eh?

The standard of exceptionalism is inherently perpetual. Natural underachievers never aspire, let alone be actually able, to keep up.

They wouldn't have fired him based on a random charge. He's too important.

It also turns out that at least two publications I know of have been working on Lauer stories. There's going to be more. The rule of thumb is that there's always more.

I bet someone has him on tape telling a dick joke back in 1981......the fucking horror.

I know the definition of "Intolerable" but I'm not any kind of fan of word definitions. One thing I do consider intolerable, however, is the concept of guilty until proven innocent, or that an allegation is proof of guilt. :(
