Not much to it.

Put the camera on a tripod (if you use a camera and not a smartphone). Adjust till it's pointed at the appropriate location on the bed, couch, kitchen table, whatever suits your fancy. Get naked with your SO (or alone works too) hit the record button or remote and get after it.

If you want to monitor what you're doing, hook the camera up to a monitor or (as in my case) big screen TV and get off watching yourself getting off!!

I've done it to video my wife and I going at it, for our own consumption and later titillation only.

I've also taken video of myself solo with some large, very large, and HUGE anal toys. I at one time posted some of these on various amateur video sites but, in a guilty purge, I asked the sites to take them down and I destroyed the originals. I wish I hadn't and wish I had them back today.

tripod is a good idea though but i would like to close up shots as well.
these videos is solely for us and off course titillation is part of it. i wont destroy them at all, they all will be my treasure.

On many modern cameras the zoom can be controlled with the remote as well. You just can't pan and tilt or get other angles with the stationary cam.

Go on some of the amateur and homemade porn video sites and watch what they do.

Some of them obviously have more than one camera, or cameras and smartphones, recording at once and they later use video editing software to splice them together as they occurred in real time. Others have a stationary camera for the distant shot and a smartphone, GoPro, or similar for the closeups. that's what i am planning to do..i have got 4 camera which i will use to capture 4 angles and then i will put them together through video editing. I wish it come out awesome! and memorable.
