Maybe should be require reading

It states a lot of things as a matter of fact that aren't going to be true 100% of the time and some which are just bullshit.

Growing up I watched a lot of porn and I never once thought to myself that "this is what real sex is like" I accepted it as an exaggeration with a lot of acting which existed for the purpose of getting people off. I doubt most young guys are stupid enough to believe that bending this way and that way wouldn't be painful for the people involved and they at least understand that being fucked hard and fast for a long period of time would eventually start to hurt.

"Most porn is about watching women pretend to enjoy sex acts that are unpleasant to them" The only point in it (that I saw) where she suggests that not all porn is bad despite her saying she hates porn full stop. There is quite a lot of porn out there which is much more realistic, for one thing there's a whole category of amateur porn which is just regular people fucking without a lot of the exaggeration.

"More than that, however, is men become accustomed to watching women pretending to be turned on. Being good in bed, fundamentally, is about being able to read someone else, and men are learning false cues. Humans are very sophisticated at reading the emotional expressions of other humans. We can tell when someone fake smiles because there are certain involuntary muscles that can only be activated when someone is genuinely smiling. Similarly, we can tell when someone is sad, or in pain."

So humans are great at telling if someone is lying or not with their facial expressions, yet somehow any guy that watches porn isn't because they become accustomed to the fake-ness and believe it to be genuine? that doesn't make sense. So it starts off great but then they start believing the lie even though according to her they would know it was a lie because of how perceptive we are.

Little too close to home ? :D

You need to understand that these things are generalizations , nothing is ever 100% when you are talking about what people think . Without taking every point 100% literally there are quite a few things in that article that (some of) the men here could quite possibly learn something from.

I appreciate the perspective. Some of that I knew, some of it I didn't, and some of it is strung together in a way that I haven't thought about before.

Thank you for posting it.

Lol definitely some truth to it. Some men think it’s just a matter of pumping as hard as they can and nothing more.

Hey, anything that gives me license to cast judgement on people I don't know, sign me up!

Remember: it's not that I'm not a judgmental asshole, it's just that I have "standards."
