Florida State, Harvard, and Ohio State have now joined other colleges in banning fraternities and sororities from campus.

This comes after vandalism and physical attacks against Greeks at other universities this year by Antifa and other radical liberal campus groups.

Why you might ask, would liberals want to ban Greek organizations on campus? Good question, but from what I can find doing internet searches, this goes back at least a decade.

The New York Times, which appears to support the move, admits its because "they segregate based on gender" among other reasons for the desire to ban the time honorered Greek tradition that has actually been growing in members in the past twenty years nationally.

While both fraternities and sororities are being systematically banned across the country, it seems to be fraternities which bear the brunt of liberal hostility.

With the percentage of male university enrollments at historic lows and continuing to decline, and with many college administrators hailing the exodus of men from campus, this move is certainly intended to cause even more young men to feel unwelcome and unwanted in today's university system.

Easy fix: integrate. Don't be single-sex. I knew well the president of an international artistic sorority that opened to men some years ago. They're doing just fine and aren't about to be banned anywhere. And they're not an especially liberal organization. They focus on art and careers, not on post-game orgies.

I remember some dude in a bar in San Diego years ago saying, condescendingly, "You don't have the fraternity system in the UK, do you?"

"No", sez I, "we don't have to manufacture our traditions".

Dude wasn't happy.

I'm afraid the only good fraternity that will give good fruits for all humanity with relatively common values and traditions is the Christian one.

People need to all support each other in what is right and wrong, in how to live an honorable Christ like life, and how it is ok if we choose not to.

But supporting my fraternal bitch even when he's wrong, is plain wrong and quite stupid as a system.

The world would be a better place if the christians kept their traditions to themselves.

Do Americans actually have time to learn things in college? Seems all there's to it is fratority nonense, bitching about political speakers, and sports.

That's why their Bachelor degrees are four years instead of three like they are everywhere else.

I think that in an age where we have to accept a white man as a Filipino woman, how are we to seriously have Greek societies which are exclusive and not established with coed needs in mind, even if the coed is of the mind that they are all of the same gender. I know that there is a famous black fraternity, what happens when a white guy says, I'm black, and is rejected? Does he sue over "discrimination?"

What percentage of any campus is Greek?

Does this proposed Xian group accept Mormons, Orthodoxoi, Xian Identity and Old Catholic bigots, members of the Church of the Naked Daniel Christ or Flying Saucer Jesus cults, flagellates, snake-handling Holy Rollers, and queers?

It might help if they actually did degrees rather than little tasters of everything.

A-Level students in the UK specialise more than US undergraduates.
Supposedly, those bits of everything comprise 'ecucation', while specialization is 'training'. USA universities were originally based on German models, not British or other European progenitors. (The oldest was a medical university in Salerno, east of Naples.) I've read that continental universities tend more to the smörgåsbord approach. Can you comment?

I've also read that while USA students undecided of their fates take Literature majors while their European counterparts take Architecture majors, and Arabs take engineering training. Comments?

The President of Florida State University is John Thrasher, who has quite a long political career in the state as a Republican.

Surprise surprise surprise........but not really because he's always a presumptuous, arrogant and smug.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.
