Another US citizen exercises their 2nd Amendment Rights

You don't have a 2nd Amendment right to shoot innocent people, demagogue.

Not covered under "The Pursuit Of Happiness"!

I really don't care what 45 said.. and yes, people break the law all the time.

Well he is the president. And that is how he phrased it. In a very specific manner as well.

People seem to be doing so at an inordinate rate with guns and mass shootings.

So? I have no control over him or your interpretation of what he said. Besides, what difference does it make? Platitudes from a politician? Criticisms from anti-Trump protagonists? There's something new...

Yeah? Lots of people are doing lots of things at an inordinate rate. Or so it would seem in our modern instant news society. Nothing's really changed. If there isn't anything else pressing in the news du-jour, the old adage still applies "if it bleeds it leads".

Sigh.

I mean that the title BoyNextDoor used was a riff on Trump's phraseology.

C'mon Baby Tomato, catch up.

Geeeez.

So you remember growing up to hearing about mass shootings and massacres all the time. False equivalency.

But I'm going to give you points for rationalizing violence and the acceptance of it as "normal".

Expect the county to be sued for the sheriff failing to enforce the court order banning the shithead from firearms.

So what makes it any different from the thousand other ways people off themselves or each other? If the dirtbag had killed those five people with a tire iron or a frying pan would it have made any difference? Probably not beyond a brief mention on the local news or below the fold of the local fish wrapper.

Said dirtbag still broke the law ether way by committing murder. So tell me how his method makes any difference?

Whenever one of these rampages takes place, the reaction is ever the same... 1) rant harder against guns by trying to implement yet another gun control law, and 2) yell for a man with a gun to stop the shooter (only they want the response to be strictly from a cop, who will be there about 5 minutes after the gunman runs out of victims, or bullets, or both).

And exactly two things are abundantly clear about this inevitable response... 1) gun laws, and particularly MORE gun laws in places that have in every conceivable way banned every firearm ever made have ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT except to take guns from law abiding citizens, and 2) The faster the response to shoot back, the fewer victims. Someone already on scene with a gun IS the fastest response.

One last fact... There will NEVER be zero victims when someone decides to use a gun to kill others and then kill themselves.

I'm just simply explaining the threat title to which both you and rightguide had apparent difficulties making the initial connection to. It's not that tough.

So how many mass murders do you recall happening from a frying pan? Especially to the point of almost everyday?

One of the victims of this spree had been stabbed by the perp. not too long ago. Why was he even on the street, let alone left in possession of firearms?

This does nothing to make our party look either smart or serious about the cause of violence. This troubled man was a known ticking time bomb and no one was going to intervene because the law protects him. This was simply not the use Second Amendment for this man was defending nothing.
If you continue to pop off with this idiocy every single time people are shot, then you are going to harden hearts, stiffen attitudes and eliminate all chance of dialog with otherwise reasonable people because they can clearly see that you hold unreasonable beliefs with a passion that cannot be compromised with and we must have compromise to make any inroads in the effort to eliminate violence, but the first thing we need to do, to borrow what I believe is one of your phrases, is enact some common-sense legislation regarding the forced treatment of members of our society who are troubled and a danger to themselves and others. We must entreat with one of our favorite institutions, the ACLU, to stop hiding these people behind a wall of their rights which serves only to help them violate our rights.

It never ceases to amaze me as to how these events, which are mostly failures of the courts and the system, are going to be 'fixed' by the very system that failed to begin with.

"Yeah, I know that airplane is an engineering disaster, but I'm going to fly it anyway."

Layer upon layer of "Engineering Change Orders" (laws) that do nothing to address the problem.

Ocham's Razor.

The dirtbag BROKE THE FUCKING LAW. What part of that don't you understand?

Who cares? Unless someone uses a gun you don't either.

Yes he did. And mass shootings are happening almost every day.

So you want to stipulate then that frying pans and tire irons are not behind the murder of multiple people pretty much every day? I can tell you that guns are.

So what's your point again?

Mass shootings are not on the rise, contrary to popular opinion (which exists mainly because anti gun folks are peddling the story a lot more these days than they used to).

I've heard that said before and I'd appreciate some sources.

Especially given the statistics that say we have one almost every day. I am using the term mass shootings to include 4+ victims.

I'm not recalling that from when I grew up. I also don't recall things like Columbine happening on an average of every few months or so. But then I'd just like the CDC to be able to study gun violence instead of the knee jerk reactionaryism of the NRA in controlling just about all gun legislation.

Were you around in the '90's when the "Don't make a good boy go bad." campaign was running? The premise was that if only YOU hadn't left your car unlocked they wouldn't steal it. You, the victim, was the guilty party here, not the thief.

The same principal applies here. "If only guns were unavailable, these things wouldn't happen." As if the availability of an inanimate object is far too much a temptation for a 'reasonable' person to resist killing another person(s) with. Therefore you, the innocent, are to blame for the actions of the guilty. That train of logic is a prescription for disaster. Why? Because once you go down that road there is no end to the implements/chemicals that are available to those that mean harm to others. The average home has all the chemicals needed to concoct some potent explosives. Just as an example, aspirin is the core ingredient to make Picric Acid, a primary detonator.

Throughout the entire course of history it is the human mind that is the source of ALL such abominations, not the inanimate object used. An evil mind will always find a way.

Thanks for sharing, "totally not the prairee nigger". ;)

So evil or insane? or just plain mean?

When a person tries to find a unprepared school so they can kill little kids I have to lean to the crazy side.

The fact that schools and churches NEED to be prepared for attacks from unknown people and unknown weapons is NOT a good sign.

How much longer before it is with car bombs or biological?:(

Go ahead and laugh it off...How well is your kids or grand kids school prepared if it happens tomorrow?
