Try him and convict him and if he gets the death penalty, then so be it. He is just some asshole not an existential to the American Way of Life. I have to agree with you except for the guns part. Politicans, criminals, celebrities and maybe couriers with valuables being the only exceptions, its dam near impossible to get a gun permit in NYC.
