Mueller has charged Manafort and Gates with violating FARA, the Foreign Agents Registration Act, for their activities on behalf of Viktor Yanukovych when he was president of the Ukraine during the Obama administration (and while HRC was Sec State, before she overthrew him). It would seem the theory is that since Putin was trying to prop up Yanukovych, Manafort and Gates were really working for Putin, and after Yanukovych bit the dust they were then working for Putin while Manafort was working for Trump. I don't know if there is any meat on those bones, but the idea that people might go to jail for violating FARA has to be making a lot of people in DC nervous, on both sides of the aisle. It would be interesting to know just how many of the former politicians in K Street lobbying firms are registered as foreign agents, and if they have provided details of their work on behalf of, say, Saudi Arabia, Israel or the Poroshenko regime in the Ukraine.
It also raises the question of whether a sitting government official, say a Secretary of State, who receives any quid pro quo, such as a donation to their foundation, might be required to register as a foreign agent...

In any case, if prosecutions for FARA violations are going to be a thing, the swam might just get drained a bit after all.

The 'swamp' Tromp is draining contains policy professionals, scientists, analysts, anyone who know anything about gov't operations and programs. EPA is a prime example. Who the fuck needs clean air? Don't inhale!

A US SecState does not overthrow foreign leaders. That's alphabet agency work.

Who administers the foundation? Would not the administrator be the foreign agent, not the namesake? Are the Clintons accused of milking their foundation as Tromp milks his? When lots of foreign gov't cash flows into Tromp.Com in violation of the constitutional emoluments clauses, shouldn't Tromp register as a foreign agent?

In any case, if prosecutions for FARA violations are going to be a thing, the swam might just get drained a bit after all.
It's leverage. Catch small fish, display the shark tank awaiting them, and listen to them implicate larger fish, till the squid in the middle is stewed. Expect many, many more indictments of minnows. Some will provide smoking guns. And expect Tromp to pull whatever shit he can to avoid the closing net. It'll get uglier.

Trouble is these are standard white collar crimes that are the specialty of your standard DOJ federal prosecutor, not a Special Prosecutor with unlimited Budget and all-encompassing authority. Mueller's investigation is a sham designed to damage the Trump Presidency.

More than one swamp. The K Street swamp is well worth draining.

Your childlike simplicity is endearing, but Secretaries of State create policies that alphabet agencies execute.

The Clintons are accused of inducing people and foreign governments to donate large sums of money to their foundation in order to get their issues addressed by the State Department.

Of course it's leverage, but the point is a lever can pry up more than one brick. When you start using a certain tactic, you invite your enemies to use the same tactic. The Manafort indictment under FARA has already lead to Podesta's resignation from his own firm, he gets it even if you don't.

In your mind, but precisely, name the crimes he's committed.

First, show me where I said he committed crimes. All I said is he’s doing a good job of fucking up his own Presidency. And according to Gallup, 60% of America agrees with me.

What did the polls say the week before the election? The NYTs on Oct 23 last year said Hillary had a 93% chance of being elected and Trump a 7% chance.

Trump hasn't fucked up his presidency, the deep state, resistant subversives in the Republican and Democrat Parties have. It's just your susceptibility to baseless opposition talking points that make you think so.

Clearly you’re spending too much time watching Fox Noise.

The buck stops at everyone else's desk but Trump's. Amazing that.

Like so many other things, 'Rump has perverted the phrase to where no one else will be able to use it and be taken seriously. Given the same chance, I would drain it .... BOTH sides of the aisle. NO ONE would be immune or protected.

Obviously, like all progressive dupes, you labor under preconceived notions that simply aren't true, but I expect nothing else from your kind. I listen to Fox News less than an hour a day, and most of that is on Fox Business in the morning. Clearly, you're part of the problem.

The point is that Mueller has opened a can of worms that may do just that. Whatever Mueller's intentions are, at this particular moment the chain of associations with FARA violations leads at least as much toward Clinton as it does toward Trump.

That's a feature, not a bug. It means that any federal prosecutor can start going after FARA violations. Any young whippersnapper with the urge to be a big noise can start by comparing a list of FARA filings with a list of lobbyists and advisors, and start looking into the ones that don't appear twice.

CO2 is not a pollutant. Particulates, SOx and NOx are atmospheric pollutants and no one in the incumbent Administration has said a word or taken any action to suggest otherwise.

Under the previous administration, the EPA was politicized as a result of a badly mistaken and misinformed belief in pseudoscience.

Better edit the Wikipedia page, then. It says that climate change denial is a pseudoscience.
