Following by days the Senate Judiciary Committee announcement of their own investigation, on Tuesday past it was announced that the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence have launched an investigation into the circumstances involving the sale of uranium mining company Uranium One to Russia's Atomic Energy Agency, Rosatom, a sale approved by the Obama administration in 2010.

To catch yourself up, here's the New York Times piece from two and half years ago that set the standard then for coverage of the Uranium One deal:

Cash Flowed to Clinton Foundation Amid Russian Uranium Deal

What, the US can't export energy sources now?

Oh well if this is just about energy exports then perhaps Rex Tillerson should set up a foundation and send his wife to visit the Saudis to give multimillion-dollar speeches.

And if he did, you would be the first to pat his back.

Seriously?

It hasn't been dug out of the ground yet either, what is your point?

My point is that none of it has been exported despite what has been said earlier in the thread.

I know you play fast and loose with facts but I don't.

. . .and you base that assertion on what?
Oh, could be your opposition to anything that negatively impacts the fossil fuel industry.

Nuclear power is not an ideal alternative to coal and oil, but it is an alternative, and therefore you must oppose it.

Question: where were all these "outraged" Republicans when the deal was being negotiated? The Senate committee was kept informed of the negotiations yet remained entirely quiet.

Also, don't forget to haul in Canada since they also had to sign off on the deal.

As a by the by, none of it has been exported.

what we know about the uranium deal

Millions flowed to the Clinton Foundation from interested parties prior to State dept approving the deal. At the same time, Bill was flying around Central Asia with the principal agent in the guy's plane, before going off to collect half a mil for an hour's speech in Moscow.

And this is not from Breitbart. Check NYT, April 23, 2015.

Are you suggesting that the deal is okay because even though the rights to the uranium were sold to the Russians, we won't actually let them have any uranium?

You are, as per usual full of shit. I'm in enthusiastic proponent of the use of nuclear power. Had life circumstances been a bit different I might very well be operating a nuclear reactor as we speak.

I have pointed out repeatedly in your idiotic religious thread that if you cared anything about carbon emissions you would be equally pro-nuclear, but you aren't.

My enthusiasm for fossil fuels (such as it is) is because they are cheap and readily available and I actually care about poor people. You, and your ilk, obviously do not.

What I am saying is that this whole thing isn't logical. There were nine agencies plus the president involved in this. Plus the Canadians. It was signed off on by all departments. The right has been rabidly focused on the Clintons (and Obama) for years and do you know what's been dug up? That Bill got a blow job in the white house. That's pretty much the biggest scandal that's been found in over 20 years.

This stupid shiny object distraction has been played out over and over again. Benghazi, email, uranium and ad nauseum. And it's always just a stupid distraction from the real bullshit that is going on.

But it's always easy to try to blame the Clintons or scandal monger or appeal to the lowest common denominator to try to drum up this selective poutrage. It's old and it's tedious. It's the boy who continually cries wolf but there are no good intentions. Just more faux scandals and more distraction and more nothing.

China holds 30% of US public debt.

Saudi Arabia owns almost $125 billion of US property assets.

Trump himself has been linked to at least $20 billion in money laundering through Russia.

Yet here we are again, with the armchair politicians and diplomats that are so sure of what they think they know that we get to have another nothingburger scandal dredged up into the public discourse.

It's to the point that you guys could claim that Clinton is eating babies and I don't know if I'd give three shits because we've done this so many damn times before. And especially given the fact that nine departments, one president and two countries had to sign off on this deal... from what I figure you guys know about as much that fits into a thimble about this and are just using this type of bullshit to once again try to pin the scandal on the Clinton.

And over and over again, ya'll are the ones that have ended up being the jackasses. But we as a country get to pay for your buffoonery. So knock off with the faux scandals until there is anything -IF there is ever anything - we might listen.

If you guys haven't numbed us with fake scandal burnout.

How many of those others people who signed off on this were paid millions of dollars to do so?

I don't doubt there was plenty of corruption to go around in this deal, but Bill Clinton is the only player to have met personally with Vlad during this approval process.

Hillary Clinton was, even then, widely considered likely to be coronated the next POTUS and protector of Obama's legacy. Her influence on all the other players here was leveraged far beyond her nominal position of SecState.

Given that she violated numerous laws to keep her communications out of reach of oversight and historical review, you have no idea what her actual role here is. That was the point of her controlling her disclosures and lack of disclosures.

The Clintons are famously corrupt. The fact that they are good at getting away with it doesnt change that well-deserved infamy.

And if the reporting from The Hill is accurate, the FBI & DOJ were the ones that kept silent and HRC, Obama and the other agency heads were kept in the dark.

So again, what about Clinton?

Thank goodness none of all these buckets full of hearsay affected President Clinton's great election victory last November 8.

THAT's your spin? That the Obama administration kept the Clintons (the biggest beneficiaries of this deal) in the dark about the corruption involved?

Kept Bill Clinton in the dark while he met with Putin (after having been denied permission to meet with principals in this deal) from knowing what was up as actual Russians topped up the Clinton's finances with actual money in anticipation of her Presidential run?

Well, OK then.

I'm sold.

I'm point blank asking where is the evidence that the FBI and DOJ shared this information with the committee heads and Obama. Everything in that reporting says that it was sat on.
