The trend of Whack-A-Mole continues, with the issue of the JFK files-


And thus the goofy misrepresentation of the JFK files' release becomes a fun case study in how Trump was able to peddle lies into the mainstream from the start of his political career. That's when he kicked things off by questioning whether the first black president was actually born in Kenya. Trump says something, credulous news outlets report his claim (either without fact-checking it, or without clearly stating it is false, particularly in the headline), and suddenly it gains traction. This is the guy who implied Ted Cruz's father was involved with the JFK assassination during the Republican primaries. Politico headline: "Trump accuses Cruz's father of helping JFK's assassin."

Trump's philosophy—the truth is whatever you can get enough people to believe—only works when the media spreads his claims uncritically. Many outlets have gotten better about this, but there's still clearly work to be done. We've endured plenty of damage.

Do you want a billion-dollar infrastructure bill? Then ask for a $2 billion because govt cannot get out of their own way. When it's NOT your money.....you spend and spend and spend.... how many billions is this investigation going to cost and will it produce anything worthy? I doubt...
