At the ironically named “DNC Unity Commission” meeting in Las Vegas, Perez circulated his list of appointments and nominations to DNC positions, which was leaked to the media. Sanders people found themselves outside of high-ranking positions in favor of lobbyists and insiders associated with the establishment.

The risk is considerable for the party. They seriously miscalculated with Clinton in the last election. While she received more votes that Trump, many felt that other candidates would have easily prevailed against him. For critics, this move will reaffirm the view that the party elites are primarily concerns with their insular interests and their own self-preservation and self=perpetuation.

Isn't Sanders a Socialist who just uses the Democrat Party for their resources?

#NeverTrump

Every day I'm thankful that nasty crooked Hag is not and never will be POTUS and the socialist shit Sanders had a role in that, but I do wonder why the DNC just didn't tell him that because he is not a member of the party he will not be on their ballots.

His presence pulled her to the right side of history.
She had to adopt the issues of the people. She was forced to be woke to the problems of her constituency, like the burgeoning cost of education to those exercising their right to a college degree.

There was a broad and I believe correct perception that most potential Democratic voters would simply not be motivated to participate in a contest between Clinton and almost anyone else without a hotly contested primary to stir them up. Similarly, it was felt that something like a Hillary/Jeb contest would result in so many people staying home that it would be impossible to predict the results, which is why Hillary actually wanted to run against Trump.

Because in most states the primary is not a privately-run affair by the party but a state-run election where anyone declaring themselves candidates of any party will make the ballot. It usually doesn't matter how or if the candidate is registered in that party.

Back in the day, crazy Lyndon LaRouche (who had his very own personality-cult 'party') ran as a Dum because no one could stop him. Same with mildly social-democratic (but useless) Bernie, who has accomplished zero in the Senate. He tells the state election office that he's a Dum and VOILA!
