Laundry and dishwasher are both going, I already hand-washed the dishes that can't go into the machine. I did some sweeping around the doors and scooped the run before I let the trio out to play in it. Once everyone is awake I'll clean the rest of the floors properly.

The fundraiser went really well yesterday and all the money is going to a local homeless shelter, the party afterward for all the employees and volunteers was great and I had a lot of fun. It was a much needed break in routine.

Mine make their way back to the laundry room when I haul clothes down. I have a lovely shelf and hanging rod system down there since I rearranged it to suit myself better.


And there's still no water on the floor since no white trash has overloaded the machine today. Or in months.

Mine usually do too but I gave a bunch of old shirts, jackets, trousers, and sweaters to a local veterans organization a while back. They left some bags to put it all in but I had to remove the hangers to make it fit. So now I have to clean them out as well.

When I had to pack Useless's last closet rod full of shit into garbage bags, I kept most of the decent hangers and gave her the shit. I had plenty of bags, so taking up too much space was no issue at all.


My front porch looked like gypsies had dumped their shit on it for a few hours until she got the rest of it outta here.


I wish she'd drop off her little dog so we could have a playdate.


I wonder if her ears are long enough to staple together, for example, or would I need a piece of lumber as a fillr on top of her head . . . .

No, the fundraiser was for a large sit-down meal. All the food was donated, the bar/restaurant shut down for the day to host it and cook it all, and the workers were all volunteers. I helped at the register or filling trollies and the organizers made sure the volunteers all ate as well. It was a good day and they raised just 18k and every dime is going to the shelter.

It's one of three they host every year, the others are for a soup kitchen and the third is to buy toys, books and etc for the children's hospital wards in the area. If I'm available I'm going to try and help out for those as well.

As for me, I get out sometimes but I work so much it's hard to meet people my own age here. I moved three times since last Halloween and will probably move again in the nearish future, so for now it is what it is.

Home from this afternoon's errand.


A friend I know puts too much money into the house she rents. She's dear and several sandwiches shy of a picnic. So I try to help the old girl out when I can, and I try not to be able to very often. Today was the day I agreed to.


So I loaded some tools onto the truck, came out of retirement, so to speak, and went to her house. The fucking a/c was indeed shoved through the wall. It was a decent installation, so it didn't just fall apart. It was also old and heavy as Hell. We got out the slide-out insides and then took the case out. I measured and we went to the Home Despot and got stuff. I built a frame and made a stop in it. We then went and got a piece of glass. I bedded that in caulk and cut some molding to keep it in place. Then I trimmed the outside.


The next door neighbors had a field-built window just like ours, but ours is better proportioned and looks better.

Happy Monday to all. So glad I don't have to commute into the city for a couple of days. The sooner I get my files this morning the sooner I can finish with those and take the rest of the week off.
