So much fucking whining. Jesus.

Days are gettng shorter on this side of the planet, so people tend to become more downbeat, especially right after the full moon following the autumnal equinox.

An Object Lesson In Why You Should Never Believe Anything Reported by Mass Media

In 1999, the mass media (and Wall Street) annointed General Electric Company's Jack Welch as the second coming of Christ. He was universally acclaimed as a management genius who had taken a moribund industrial company and turned it into a sleek enterprise with an unbroken record of annual earnings and dividend increases.

As is so often the case, the nitwits (read art history majors, English majors, anthropology majors, sociology majors, etc.), blabbermouths and talking heads didn't have the foggiest fucking idea what they were yapping about.

Welch was using the company's General Electric Credit Corporation to manage General Electric's earnings. Whenever he needed to pull a rabbit out of the hat to meet the company's earnings target, he'd realize a gain that had theretofore been buried in GECC awaiting the need. Every competent securities analyst (they are amazingly rare) knew exactly what Welch was doing: operating a gargantuan shell game. It was perfectly "legal," of course, but it wasn't sustainable and it had absolutely nothing to do with General Electric's core business fundamentals.

A decade and a half later, GE stock STILL hasn't recovered to its "dot com" high. Welch blew out of the place and dumped the mess in Jeff Immelt's lap. Immelt, to his credit, has sold off GE Credit and a lot of the other garbage that Welch had acquired. The pigeons came home to roost and the media geniuses are (finally) revealed as the gullible boneheads they are.

The computer gods we're benevolent. The updates went without incident. Which is unusual for Intuit these days, but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth.

"We men" like Robin Williams usually kill themselves once they realize the true asininity of that totally immature folly.

I bet the interior of his home smells really really bad. Like dirty washcloth bad. The kind of reek that makes you want to give up on humanity. :D

I know this guy that smells like mildewy towels. Always. I look at him, then the wife, and think how can that go on for so long...do you just get used to it?
