Bra Size Question

I'm writing a story that uses specific bra sizes as part of the plot, and I'm hoping that someone can answer a question I have:

If a bra of one size fits (like 36C) will the same bra fit around the chest but be too big in cups, if you keep the band size the same but increase the cup size (like 36D)?

I feel like the answer is "yes", but I wanted to ask the question before I put it into print. I'd hate to make a fool out of myself lol

Yes. Although if you also go down in band size, sometimes a bigger cup size will fit well if you've got some flesh on your bones.

You may have the answer you were searching for but since you apparently have not shopped for a bra then you may need to know that the band length is not exact and it varies from one manufacture to another. The general rule is to add 4 inches to the actual measurement to get the size that fits. A few of the newer brands are actual size.
