While there are the usual calls from Democrat politicians to ban guns even before the bodies are cold, and calls for hotels to search their guests luggage, even bizarre calls for more limits on prescription medication, before we know any real facts about the Las Vegas attack, nobody is mentioning the obvious. We do know the attacker was a compulsive high stakes gambler.
There is a reason our ancestors, and most of the traditional religions, looked at gambling as a sin. It brings out all manner of depraved traits in its addicts and turns decent people into reprobates. It wasn't just historically denounced and even banned to take grandma's fun at the slot machine or bingo night away. Its a substantive moral evil.
Perhaps we should rethink the proliferation of this behavior in modern society?
