Has Fata Been Perma-banned?

This is kind of what i was saying to you last night, I'm relatively new and just came to chat and maybe make some friends, I guess i expected something different from a erotica site that i visited to read some stories and found the boards. Sure there are other threads that that are porn / erotica related, kinda took a stroll through and came back to the GB board. IDK. Been around myself and as i may have mentioned before, found places on the internet that i actually became friends with in RL , and still am, just friends, nothing more. Totally cool people. Wasn't sure I was going to find that here but i guess i set my expectations a little high.

That was basically the jist of my rant last night. New and already on bail mode. Lots of times i log on and i'm like WTF...But I have met a few peeps i enjoy talking too here.
i'm kind of surprised you didn't find what you were looking for on the other parts of Lit, given there's a fetish forum and a playground, a how-to place and venues for hook-ups, venues for writers; damn, there's even a poetry forum here! ALL those other places have distinctly different vibes to the GB.

lots have been here a long time, lots of us have met lots of others in real life, for no other reason than a coffee - or to begin a relationship. i even met my husband here, got to know him first as a writer, ended up moving halfways round the world to marry him! there ARE good people here, but so many of the really smart, decent, funny, interesting people have left that trolls are running wild. the only way around it is to stick them on ignore and lots of the good people post lots of good stuff - but when posters like Fata go MIA it hits a community hard.

I understand that. It seems like there might be a few more stands worth taking as well, though.

*sigh* i know. still laurel&manu's site, their rules. i can see people being disillusioned over this, though, whatever the rights and wrongs rule-wise.

guess we're all free to go other places if we want to, start our own sites, make and uphold our own rules. lit holds good memories and connections for a lot of us, though... but that whole diminishing returns thing? yeah :(

In most cases, you're only going to find a few people among the masses that you click with who may become friends. That's been true for me, anyway, even in places that seem friendlier than this nuthouse.

Talk to those you enjoy, for as long as that's likely to last, and tune out the rest. None of this shit matters in the end, anyway.

Well, i keep trying to change my profile, but it doesn't seem to work. However, I'm married, not looking to PM, cyber , hookups, or any of that here or have any online flings whatever. Actually, I'm not even really sure what the hell i was looking for when i signed up, I was like OH look, erotica site ( read stories for a couple years before i noticed ) , with boards ( chat sucked, i found that first , what a shitshow ) .. Sure I'll flirt here or there but whatever, i think you get the jist.

I actually dont know who those people are, i mean i've seen them and maybe commented a couple times. But couldn't say i know a thing about them.

Thats pretty wild you met your husband here. Of course, thats not the first time i heard somebody say that they've met their S/O here. Thats pretty cool. Good for you

I'm rambling again.. i'll just shutup now.

True, but there was a couple sites, one inpartiuclar ( rather not divulge ) that I met a entire group of people, and everybody was totally cool, maybe i found internet Utopia or something.. But I mean there are still like 15 of us that meet at Myrtle Beach 2x a year. no its not a big orgy or anything like that, only a few of them had any relationship type thing come out of it.. There used to be more, couple passed away, couple move out of the country, couple found themselves in situations where they no longer could join.. But we still do it.. Maybe subconsciously i thought it might be a bit like that. bunch of really cool people ( well it had trolls too ) and well.. you get it..

IDK, more rambling..

I'm a newbie, I don't have all that much invested. Once I've finished posting my story, I will decide if I'm going to remain.

There are a dozen plus safe spaces on lit. If you don't like the rules of the GB you should really consider posting in one of them instead of the almost free speech board where nobody gives a fuck about your delecate sensibilities.

Kinda like there is a politics board. Specifically for the kinda shit that gets blasted here all day every day.

Coming here is like visiting a small town. All the townies know each other, grew up together, etc, and have formed their own sort of culture. It takes a little time to get a feel for the place, and most new people will never really feel like they fit in. But, you're right, what we make and take from the experience is affected by what we choose to do with it.

Yes, she has.

can you elaborate on that, sean? did she post additional ban-worthy stuff beyond the one we've seen replaced with the final warning notice?

is it a permaban or just a ban on that username?

Makes sense.... Maybe I'll give the ignore button a go, sorta like unfriending people on facebook ( I dont go on there anymore really, that place has run its course IMO )

sorta, click click click,, Fuck this person, Fuck you, your unfriended as well, dont know why i even listened to your shit for years.. Oh and this bitch is definitely gone... LOL

Didn't ask why, but I can guess. Apparently it's an IP ban, horse labia is locked out too.

well maybe a bit, though this place has been running for about 16 years, i think, and some of the initial members are still posting, but most of us have moved into town over the years. right now, given the amount of people i have on ignore, the place is troll-heavy but we've had a recent influx of fun and interesting posters worth reading.

i can't name one person who'd rue the absence of the likes of busybody, but fata? that's a blow.

How long ago was that? I remember when the internet was smaller, too. One of the reasons I liked this place was that the forum format felt nostalgic.

How old was that group when you found it? How long had the people known each other? Here, you've got groups of people that have known each other for years... some many many years... already. There's not a lot of space for new folks. Those kind of connections get harder to make the older we get, because so many already have those slots filled.

I just told her to use a vpn.
can you pass a message on for me? i can get one to her another way but it might be quicker via you: tell her that if she finds another site she likes and joins, to let me know because i'll go there instead.

that would do it., bunch of other ways, but soon as i start saying something, we'll have the network team brigade in here to debate who knows more about networks than the next guy. LOL

about mmm, 13/14 years ago, but I've pretty much been traveling the webs since 1992, started out as a Unix Administrator and well, I evolved too..
