Routine “well child” doctor and dental visits are free under CHIP. But there may be co-payments for other services. Some states charge a monthly premium for CHIP coverage. The costs are different in each state, but you won’t have to pay more than 5% of your family’s income for the year.

Congress, so far, has failed to renew funding for community health centers across the country which puts coverage for 9 million patients at risk with potential layoffs impacting 50,000 providers at the 2,800 sites.

Generally, these centers serve the poorest clients, who often present with the most complex medical and behavioral issues.

They have shut down 90 percent of the marketing for the Affordable Care Act and refuse to pay the insurance companies more than a month ahead of time. They told the IRS to stop enforcing the individual mandate and this week they refused to cooperate with the states who are trying to enroll their citizens in the Affordable Care Act,” he said.

It would seem that House leadership is at least considering not holding a vote on removing restrictions on the sale of gun silencers. Maybe. They remain, however, determined to hold that vote in the near future.

Too bad we can't get the NRA to champion children's health, because that's a vote that doesn't seem to be on their priority list, despite the fact that funding for the Children's Health Insurance Program expired Saturday. And that 10 states are going to run out of money to cover children by the end of December. Another 22 will run out of funding within six months.

Obamacare has proven to be difficult to remove. The Republican coalition of skunks are frustrated. If they had succeeded, they would have had the cash they needed to provide their patrons with the tax break.

Where are they planning to get the cash, now ?


Cutting affordable housing spending by $37 billion over 10 years, eliminating housing assistance for 1 million families.

Cutting Pell Grant funding by more than $100 billion over 10 years, which Sanders says would affect 8 million students;

Cutting enough funding from the WIC Program to end it immediately, meaning 1.25 million women, infants, and children would lose access to nutrition assistance;

Cutting Head Start funding by $3 billion, which Sanders says would eliminate services for 25,000 children annually.

All this is in order to provide the $1.5 trillion in tax cuts they're planning for the rich.
