By taking a knee during the Anthem, those players are protesting about how black people are treated by police.

Unfortunately, by taking a knee during the Anthem, they are also disrespecting all of those soldiers that died. Those protesters can't have it both ways. There are millions of active & veteran military that see it as a sign of disrespect.

If those protesters took a knee before or after the anthem, then their protest only applies to their original intent. Since they are doing it during, then they are essentially doing two protests, even if they say they are only doing one.

Considering it was a soldier that told him it was disrespectful to sit and instead it would be better to kneel... I think that any blanket statement made of how the military or individual soldiers feel about it is not particularly accurate. It's more a statement of how certain individuals interpret it, regardless of intent.
