So, Price paid the price

source

"Today, I will write a personal check to the US Treasury for the expenses of my travel on private charter planes," Price said in his statement. "The taxpayers won't pay a dime for my seat on those planes."

According to a Health and Human Services Department spokesperson, the check Price promised will cover his seat rather than the total cost of the flights, which is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

"What the Secretary has done is say that while all of this travel was approved by legal and HHS officials, the Secretary has heard the taxpayers' concerns and wants to be responsive to them," the spokesperson said. "That's why he's taking the unprecedented step of reimbursing the government for his share of the travel. Secretary Price will write a personal check to the US Treasury for $51,887.31."

Big whoop. Spends almost a million and pays back 5%. What a guy. Sounds like a rich asshole taking the taxpayers for a ride.

Frankly he should pay back the entire amount. Not like the average Joe or Jane would be cut slack and only have to pay back a pittance.

I hope they make him pay the entire amount of the flights and not just for "his seat". $51k is utterly ridiculous.

CREW has issued FOIA requests not only for travel-related documents for Mnuchin, Price, Pruitt, and Zinke, but also at least two other top Trump officials: Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.

Furthermore, CREW wants to know whether Carson used federal funds to travel to Trump's campaign-style rally in Phoenix last month, where he delivered introductory remarks. Members of the executive branch, except the president and the vice president, using taxpayer money for political purposes is prohibited by the Hatch Act.

Next time obama is president, you write a strongly worded letter to someone who gives a flying fuck.

Dunno why people are so upset about price. What we paid for his trips is minuscule compared to the tax dollars Trump has spent taking golfing trips. Of course I guess he has to spend a lot of time in FL to make people feel like they are getting the 100% increase in membership fees at his resort since his election.

Hilarious that this time just last year the statist conservative partisan pieces of shit were whining exactly about what their political opposites, progressive partisan pieces of shit, are now whining about.

Keep your partisan piece of shit political games going, bozos.

One does not become a rich bastard by paying one's own bills.

Price has paid almost no price except notoriety.
But alas, he made the boss look bad.
Only the boss gets to make the boss look bad.
Sorry, Charlie. This way to the egress.

Next time Barry is in office, you can write him a strong letter deploring his actions.

Barry will never hold another office nor will hill. Never wrote them a letter, never will.

The best they can hope for is avoiding a prison sentence, together.

You like the word deplorable, don't you?

Reminds me of your heroes, antifa.

The main thing that is different about politicians today versus 10, 20 or 30 years ago is the easy ability for malcontents to be "heard" when they bitch about politicians.

You guys all come here after Googling your Bitch du Jour for like minded cites, regardless of their veracity or weight, and fill the GB with the same lame shit people have been spouting about politicians since Ancient Greece.

Tiny Bubbles.

High-flying Holder:Report shows AG, FBI director used luxury jets for personal travel

WASHINGTON – Two high-tech luxury jets that the FBI convinced Congress were needed for the fight against global terrorism have instead been used to ferry around Attorney General Eric Holder and his predecessors, as well as FBI Director Robert Mueller, according to a government report released Thursday.

“These luxury jets were supposedly needed for counterterrorism, but it turns out that they were used almost two-thirds of the time for jet-setting executive travel,” he said. “Nobody disputes that the Attorney General and the FBI Director should have access to the secure communications, but, for instance, there’s no reason they can’t take a less expensive mode of transportation, or cut their personal travel."

The cost attributed to attorney general travel was $5.8 million; the FBI director's travel cost nearly as much. Roughly 70 percent of the AG flights were for business, and 28 percent were for personal reasons.
