Jeeze, someone please spill coffee on Trump's computer. This Commander and Tweet thing is downright embarrassing. This whole NFL players disrespecting the country had already died down and then Trump throws gas on the glowing embers.

But I do find it interesting watching this group dynamic in action. These guys are trained from an early age that the team is more important than the individual. When one of them puts his own interests first, the rest of the group roundly criticizes him as selfish.

This kind of criticism is encouraged within the group, but if an outsider attacks one of them, then the rest come to his aid. And it does not matter if the outsider is right. An attack one is seen as an attack on all. And the reaction we all saw this past weekend is a manifestation of that.

Internally, the NFL leadership disapproved of the players protests. We know this because Kaepernick is sitting at home. But protecting the group is more important. And now, I predict Kaepernick will make a comeback and be seen as a hero. All because of Trump, the village idiot with a twitter account.

That's the way Donald Trump is uniting this country.
And a damn clever strategy it is.
Almost like he has it planned in detail.
Almost like he really is a Clinton sock-puppet.
Almost like he's deliberately destroying the GOP.
And of course he's enriching major media.
More noise, more eyeballs, more bucks.
He can resign any time now.
His job is already done.
Go. Now. Please.
Take Pence.

And proud to be one.

Wanna suck my BBC? Judging from Zumi's post it might be right up your alley.

He's going to win on this issue and the NFL knows it, but the players have painted themselves into a corner and management doesn't know how to get them out of the corner and doesn't know how to avoid being taken hostage by the SJW network (who basically want the NFL out of business) and are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome even before being taken hostage.

They are terrified that the players might walk out if they use their right as employers to stand up to them.

On this issue, as far as I am concerned as an EX-NFLY fan, he is speaking for the silent majority, those who will not riot, disrespect or destroy careers but who are increasingly just saying, "I have a choice on how to spend my weekend and the NFL does not want me to spend it with them, so I won't. Let them welcome their new snowflake audience to fill the seats of their stadiums and consume their televised product."

Did we not notice that DirectTV just caved to the anti-NFL backlash from the real fans?

Colin is not sitting at home because he is being punished. (As Lou Holtz pointed out on FOX news, this is a team sport and your only agenda should be winning. If you show up with another agenda, then you are dividing your team and promoting losing.)

Colin was relegated to the bench because the NFL coaches figured him out and he never improved his game. He was a one trick pony.

Meanwhile, the white guy that was fired to give him the position actually worked on his game, has less talent and skills and is currently at the helm of an undefeated team.

If Kaepernick was all that he would be playing today. The NFL will employ wife beaters and dog fighters as long as they have enough talent to win a game.

He's better than Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith, both of whom are back up QBs right now.

I don't think Kap is a starter, but teams definitely didn't want the distraction of his taking a knee, which is within their rights as teams.

Of course you did.....

It seems like the whole point of players sitting during the anthem has become lost. To create a real and productive dialogue about social injustice and police brutality.

Trump simply declaring to "fire those son of a bitches" does nothing to solve anything. I'm not saying the form of protest is right or wrong, but shouldn't the point be to create a real discussion about the issues of race in this country and the ways to solve them?

There's no problem with race in the us, just ask any Republican.

There it is.

Go team! Only the team matters. Only victory matters, even though every victory means a defeat. Only the team and victory matter. Only making the owner richer matters. Your health and survival don't matter. Your family don't matter. Your community doesn't matter. The world around you doesn't matter. Only the game matters. Go team!

Still waiting for those tit pics. :)

The point of the National Anthem is to show solid respect for your country, and to those who have defended it. Diversions of disrespect are unacceptable. These 'athletes' are simply dishonoring themselves now.

What would be an acceptable way for them to protest?

It matters not that players say they don't protest the nation, the anthem, the flag, the military, none of that, but only peacefully show outrage at injustice and racism. Tompskers say they're disrespecting nation-flag-anthem-military-owners-advertisers-klansmen-etc. It matters not that Tromp can't fit a slab of truth between two slices of bullshit. Lies win.
