All is quiet and normal here today. The never-ending list of regular stuff is started but added to that is the winterizing that needs to be completed while the weather is still nice. It's been unseasonably warm and I have concerns that it will switch just as fast.

There was no time to winterize the shop last year and we had issues with snow coming around the door and a lack of creature comforts. I would prefer not to go through that again

Last year I moved further north three times in two months because of a total fuckup. It was a hard winter for many reasons and I prefer to hibernate in comfort over the winter months. It's a fallacy that all Canada gets harsh winters but they do last longer than 4 hours.

As for your architect Wat, bury him in pictures so he quits asking for more.

Well, I sure hope the dryer does its thing properly after Further Attention is paid it.

It dawned on me how many costume changes the ex-housemate used to do, based on how much she washed. Thing is, I imagine that it was fewer costume changes and more disorganization and forgetting that she'd washed that shit last week because she didn't put it away and so she'd wash it again. I do know this: the washer hasn't leaked a drop since she's been gone.

Here's a car ad I found over the weekend. It's an odd place to find a Mopar 727 transmission: https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2017/...-the-day-1954-packard-convertible/?refer=news

Okay, I gotta go try to keep these weasels happy, best as I can . . . .

It seems that the saga of the dryer is over. My error was installing the belt with the wrong side touching the drum. But because I called the guy, after he fixed that little error, when we fired it up, it was making a bad noise. The felt was worn out at the rear of the drum. He had the parts with him to fix it. He also saved me some labor hours because I knew how to disassemble/assemble the machine, because almost every model seems to have its quirks of construction.

Now, I'm warming up some spaghetti sauce and those horrible Omaha Steaks Italian Meatballs. Yesterday I had to eat some equally horrendous OS Chinese food. Praise be to Allah that even Omaha cannot fuck up rice...

Home. Fuck cooking. I was gonna get Chinese, but they're now closed on Mondays.

The sign on the door says, "close on Monday".

I learned some plumbing code today about "water distribution" from the overflow of a water heater. CPVC is acceptable pipe, but PVC isn't rated at high enough a temperature. Some of the changed-out heaters, they took the old copper pipe off the old ones and put them on the new ones. The morons threw away the old copper pipes with the old water heaters and installed nothing. Some of us put on PVC - the wrong stuff. Now, Wat is having to check each and every motherfucking water heater, even the ones that "passed" because it's a liability.

Who says old Wats don't learn new tricks???

As soon as the heat went up again we went back to starting at 4 again, we caught a break though -sort of- and the shop is moving to an insulated space this weekend. It's a 6 one way, half dozen the other situation. We gain some things and lose some things.

I was smart enough to sleep in.

Little stupid is doing the gopher, but she has food, water, blankets on her dog beds and she doesn't want to go out, so...,

;)

I am just fucking ignoring her.

The league won't let the Cowboys wear a tribute to dead pigs in a blanket, but they are super happy with them kneeling to celebrate a myth...

Fuck them. I'm never going to watch football again and that's a lifetime commitment.

There goes the gopher again. I'm going to grab her by the collar and chuck her outside. This shit has to end too.

It's already 72 outside and going to be another scorcher.

And I'll share more about the move once it's over and the full situation can be assessed. Basically, the two big selling features were cheaper and insulated with heat/cool ability.

Cheaper is good - oftentimes.

In other "news:"

Players across the NFL protested and showed demonstrations of unity during the playing of the national anthem Sunday following remarks made over the weekend by President Donald Trump that team owners should fire players who fail to stand for the national anthem prior to games.

The player responses drew support from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who told The MMQB's Peter King he was "proud" of Sunday's actions.

"The way we reacted today, and this weekend, made me proud," Goodell said. "I'm proud of our league."

Fuck Goodell - just sayin'. Fuck the whole over-paid under-thinking lot of them. Pete's Parody was the beginning of the end, and it's really picking up speed. Oh wait . . . it's toast.

Too bad his father didn't lose a leg somewhere, and he could have named him after the place, like Kennesaw Mountain Landid . . . .

I'm not a sports fan, but I don't think it's the owners or managers that need to fire them, I think it's the fans.

So many people seem outraged by the player's actions but they forget that if they stop buying the merchandise, tickets, and products sponsored by the players their money will be speaking for them quickly. Until the fans do more than whine nothing will change.
