Money left over from a presidential inauguration is traditionally given away to charity. In some cases parts of it is used to fund repairs or upgrades to the White House, but in the end, whatever is left over is given to charity.

After his inauguration, the con artist said he would continue this tradition. To date, not a single penny has been given to charity. The Associated Press spoke with eight people — vendors, donors and Trump associates — involved in planning and political fundraising for the celebration, an event that provides an early look at the new president's management style and priorities. The people described a chaotic process marked by last-minute decisions, staffing turnover and little financial oversight.

Other people familiar with the committee's activities before and after the inauguration said its efforts were hobbled by a shortage of staff with relevant experience.

The head of the private Presidential Inaugural Committee, Tom Barrack, said a full and complete audit by third parties had been performed, though he refused to provide a copy of the audit or any other information to the Associated Press.

Two Trump associates familiar with efforts to sort out the financing said they were unaware of a completed third-party audit. Three people said the delay in doling out leftover money comes amid ongoing confusion about how much is left after the Jan. 20 celebration.

"The thing about inaugural expenses, they're not complicated," said Steve Kerrigan, head of President Barack Obama's 2013 inaugural committee. "You take money in, you pay it out, and then you know what you're left with when it's done."

Even worse, was the rampant, out-of-control spending done by the Inaugural Committee. Among the head-scratching line-items was the pre-inaugural Lincoln Memorial concert, which came with a $25 million price tag, according to four of the people. Bush's inaugural committee spent $2.5 million on its concert on the National Mall. Obama's concert had 10,000 ticketed seats — twice the size of Trump's — and cost less than $5 million, said Kerrigan, and was produced at a high enough level that HBO paid for the rights to telecast it.

"I couldn't tell you how we possibly could have spent $25 million on a concert," said Kerrigan.

Based on his past history, it should have been clear the con artist had no idea what he is doing with money. His businesses routinely fail, he's had to declare bankruptcy on numerous occasions, had to get a loan from George Soros to prevent another bankruptcy, and has bragged he's the King of Debt.

How any of that should translate into a comprehensive, systematic accounting of private money given to him is a mystery. That he has so far refused to turn over any leftover money to charity, eight months after pledging to do so, should also not be a surprise. After all, this is the same person who used his "foundation" to illegally pay his legal bills, illegally pay for his personal bills, and illegally buy himself gifts. And this doesn't take into account the times he's said he'd given money to charity or for one of his golf tournaments only to turn around and not give the money he said he would.

Tom Cruise asked the same thing! Cuba Gooding knows. We can ask in his next straight to video movie.

Ouch! Come on he was pretty good in The People v. O.J. Simpson on FX.

I'm one of the weirdos that didn't watch any of the OJ coverage, trial, tv specials, interviews, etc...I also didn't search for the "real" killer.

Poor Cuba! He should have gone into rehab. That gives a career boost.

‘Slush fund’: Maddow follows the money from Trump’s ‘giant pile of Inauguration Fund cash

President Donald Trump and his family are using campaign funds from the Republican National Committee to pay for their legal defense as part of the Russia investigation and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow sees problems with it.

So far, the use of government funds has been a major problem for the Trump administration to navigate. Maddow cited Steve Mnuchin’s use of a government plan to fly down to Kentucky to take a gander at the gold in Ft. Knox and then watch the solar eclipse on the roof. He then requested to use the private government jet to use for his honeymoon and was denied. She then brought up EPA director Scott Pruitt is using a government jet to fly back to Oklahoma nearly every weekend because he is said to be thinking about running for governor. All of this is funded by U.S. taxpayers.

Meanwhile, Maddow explained President Donald Trump and his family are using campaign dollars and money from the RNC to foot the bills for their own legal expenses. Interestingly, former Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID), who was caught in a bathroom allegedly cruising for a male sexual encounter, spent his campaign funds on his legal defense. He was then convicted of doing so in court and had to pay over $242,000 in fines and reimbursements. Somehow, the Trump family is allowed to do exactly what Craig was doing that was found to be illegal.

Sean Spicer, who was recently let go from his job as press secretary turned interim communications director, but not before he filled notebooks full of notes during meetings. Those notes are now being subpoenaed by the special counsel. So far, Spicer doesn’t appear to have an attorney to help him through the Russia investigation and his legal fees aren’t being paid for by anyone.

She said that her team has been looking at it for a while. The grave need for money to pay for these legal fees, the unwilling Trumps not helping out their own team, and the giant pile of Inauguration Fund cash sitting in an account somewhere. They asked the committee if they could use the money for legal fees, but they received a “no comment” response.

Looks like everyone in the administration is going to be bankrupted except The Trumpanzies! :D

I recall Tromp's history of defaults and broken contracts, robbing investors, contractors, and employees, even stealing waiters' tips. I consider all those who signed on with TeamTromp are TOTAL FUCKING MORONS to think they would be treated any different. Look at his past, fools! It predicts his future.

What is telling is that everyone who voted for Trump had every reason to have known all of this before they did so.

How about McCain? How about Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama. All kept money so if you are going after one, go after all. And who took money from foreign nations? Check the Clinton Foundation records. No, don't be a left wing jerk and protect the guilty of your own while attacking everyone else. You attacks then mean nothing and your words are just lies. Look at how the leftist media handle things. One sided, full of lies and fake reports.

And look at who gave money. McCain, a Republican candidate for President, took money from Hillary Clinton and George Soros. He isn't a democrat, at least not officially, even if he is selling out his country, so report his political presidential funding too.

We all know the corrupt and criminal behavior of the DNC not only against the people of this country, but against members of their own party. Report on that too. Otherwise your words are just b.s.

How about the little Princess from San Francisco, and her buddy who is suppose to be from Compton. And there are the senators from Maine on the Republican side and others that should be looked into. And don't forget Obama and his buddies. Talk about a bunch of crooks. Good old Chicago mob.

The only reason you spend so much time on Trump is because your great leaders who care not a damn about you tell you that this is the thing to do and that lying and violence is permitted to help overthrow a government of the people. Like good little commies and Nazis you obey and do as you are told. You believe that a mind is a terrible thing to waste so you never use your mind because it would be a waste.

But we do enjoy seeing you make fools of yourself. Since there are no comics around any more (when is the last time you really laugh at any of those rotten late night talking heads who are more Joseph Goebbels than Johnny Carson?) we need something to laugh at. And an American leftist is the lowest form of human being and a great one to kid and make fun of.

Also look into McConnell, Ryan and a lot of other Rethuglicans who took millions from Russian connected mobsters. Pelosi and Shumer are probably dirty in their own ways, Finestine and most every pol that makes up the "Leadership" has probably accepted the generosity of strangers, if you look hard enough, Scotty.

If Obama had enforced the law when he was first elected, we would be asking ourselves if it is really necessary to keep feeding a condemned man, now that Cheney and the Neo-Cons are in jail for torture and kidnapping.

Get back on the meds Scotty.:)
