America is unique in enjoying the freedoms of the US Constitution, and especially to have the protections of the Bill of Rights. Among these is the protection to keep and bear arms, our Second Amendment, and it is a personal right, as supported by SCOTUS decision.

There is currently an initiative for 'national carry'. In theory, this is fine... if you trust the Federal government to support the 2nd amendment, which I don't. We came within a hairs breadth of losing the right in this last election, and to trust the right to Federal approval is only as secure as the next election.

It's sad the promises made by the Federal government to every citizen are as tenuous as they are, but due to the fact that they simply cannot be trusted, I remain in favor of the current policy of County Sheriff issuance of conceal carry permits. We know we have the Bill of Rights, we simply no longer have the guarantee that those few politicians who refuse to preserve, protect and defend the US Constitution (as their oath demands) are not going to push to deprive us of that right, and others, and are an eminent threat.

Leftists are doing their very best to destroy the First and Second Amendments.

Which one will they go after next?

Remember that when this was written, people used muzzle loaders and flintlocks that took time to reload. They were heavy, cumbersome and difficult to use. Entire families may have one because that was all they could afford. Some made their own. You didn't have one, you may not eat regularly.

I firmly believe that if the authors saw what was available today, they would have written it much more carefully and with far greater restrictions.

There is absolutely NO reason at all for any private citizen to have rapid fire weapons with high capacity magazines. None.

Gosh, if the right to bear arms is so close to being repealed in the US, maybe it's actually a good idea.

Let's see… more people voted for Hillary Clinton than Donald Trump. That must mean more people thought it would be better to have a more-liberal Supreme Court. Such a court could overturn previous decisions, under the right circumstances. This could have been the consequence of a democratic system.

Would you prefer a different system?

Bullshit. The Supreme Court already flushed that false premise down the toilet, but I wouldn't expect you to know about that. Or anything else, for that matter.

Now tell us - what is a rapid fire weapon and a high capacity magazine?

I totally missed the Constitutional amendment on the ballot this last election repealing the 2nd amendment!!!!

The typical liberal is a firearms illiterate, not knowing the difference between a pistol and a semi-automatic, or between the differing firepower of a bolt action .22 rifle vs. a single shot .50 cal. No, to the average liberal, a broomstick painted black with a cooling jacket on it is a thing to be feared. It would be funny if it were not so pathetic.

You really don't know, do you?

Facts about firearms is one of many things liberals don't know a damn thing about, so what do they do? They post a picture of a squirt gun.

Perfect.
