I wonder if in the new Lit world it would be possible to sort stories, and perhaps authors to, by other means than alphabetical.

Its really funny to read an authors stories by date as an example. You get to see progression and suggestions in a different way than with the standard sorting.

Thank you for the suggestions.

The new system will allow us to add more features like sorting and filtering of Lit stories. You can see an example on the Beta Tags Portal:
https://literotica.com/tags/alien/

I'm not sure where you would like to see sorting added, but we are open to suggestions for improving the new interface.

Thank you again. :D

If sorting was going to be added, I'd like to see it on an author's story page. That way I can group them by category instead of searching through 50 stories for all erotic horror or romance, etc. Date as well would be nice.

Yeah, the authors page was my plan aswell.
And filtering is also a very good feature.
This site is gonna be even better then it is. 😉

Do you have any ideas about how a Category sort might work on the author page?

Date, alphabetical, rating, views, etc. are obvious. Grouping by Category almost seems similar to Series where things are put into groups that can be collapsed. We don't currently have an interface concept for sorting by Category on the Author Page. If you have any thoughts about how it might work, I'd definitely be interested.

Thank you again.

Isn't Grouping by Category somewhat abunant if you have the same filter function as in "Tags"?

Sorting out "Winners" could perhaps be a cool feature.

Speaking of series. Is it possible to add a "next story in series"-button?

I find myself often searching for stories with characters having certain names. Often, that leads to searching just stories by a certain author (so I can find parts of a set/groups, etc.).

Anyway, I also use the "+" to "find similar" (though I sometimes find these are the same ones recommended at the end of that story with the sign next to it, which I FYI would like to see updated sometimes so I'm not seeing decade-old ones).

What I'm getting at is I'd like to see a way I could place "Hot"-tagged (not "tag" like a term) or "Editor's Choice"/"Contest Winner" stories together on a separate list or something.

Being able to sort the Author Page by date would be useful for me so that it's easier to see the chronological order of stories. When there's a long time between story submissions -- that are related, say, by character -- date sequence seems more logical than title sequence.

Manu,

Is it possible to put the number of pages in a story on the Author's Page, alongside the score, category and date of the story?

It would be very useful for readers going through a writer's catalogue to know how long a story is, in the very first list they see.

Thanks, EB
