i thought i submitted a story

I have a question.

Will standard symbols, such as those that come with Word for Windows, work within a story when inserted in a story and the story is copied and pasted to the submission page?

I didn't want to start inserting symbols in a story if the symbols didn't properly transmit within text.

Thank you in advance for your help.

@SJP: Probably not. From what I've seen, the little flourishes Word likes to put in text (such as the raised letters when you type things like 2nd, 3rd etc) get lost. If you have to insert special characters not covered by the alphanumeric keys of your keyboard, you can try to use the html code for it, but even that isn't a surefire way. Lit seems to scan for html tags and strips out most of them, except for basic formatting ones like italics, center etc.

Don't bother putting superscript in for anything but footnote numbers anymore. Publishing has done away with other uses.

Yes you are. But you are not alone.;)
Finally after nearly a year I got the old Windows WORDS installed in this tower and my new laptop. Maybe I can write some more bad stories again so Anon has something constructive to do.
