Multiple Author Question

I have written a story were a bunch of college kids are invited to an event and leave as couples. I wrote my story from the perspective of 1 of the 50 guys. It's a good story on it's own that I will publish after its edited.

I thought it would be cool if other authors created stories about the other people that attended but with different styles. My story took an incest twist but every story could go in endless directions, styles, and categories.

I had thought of publishing my story and then letting others fill in as they want but there could be a long delay between stories being published. I think it might be interesting to have several stories published over a week or two. That means getting people to write stories now and then hold till several are ready.

My 1st chapter is an invitation to an event that probably will be chapter 1 for all points of view.

Any thoughts on how to organize something like this? Has anything like this been done before? I am willing to share my story ahead of time with other interested authors.

Chain Stories, I think.

The last time I was involved with one here, the organizer asked Laurel to facilitate linking the stories together. I suppose if anyone wanted to take your suggestion, though, they could read your story, pick out a character or characters to write a story around and just link it to your story in an introductory note.

With so many repeated and tired storylines I thought this would be something unique. 30 stories with the same kick off point but scatter in different directions. I like writing unique stories but I think it would be interesting to try something like this.

The Authors' Hangout has cooperated on Chain Stories in the past. To become a Chain Story the title has to start identically and be submitted as a Chain Story. They don't get posted in a single place unless the authors are working under a shared user name.
