The American Taliban/Isis.

Virgil Caine is the name, and I served on the Danville train
'Till Stoneman's cavalry came and tore up the tracks again
In the winter of '65, we were hungry, just barely alive
By May the tenth, Richmond had fell, it's a time I remember, oh so well

Back with my wife in Tennessee, when one day she called to me
"Virgil, quick, come see, there goes Robert E Lee"
Now I don't mind choppin' wood, and I don't care if the money's no good
Ya take what ya need and ya leave the rest,
But they should never have taken the very best

Like my father before me, I will work the land
Like my brother above me, who took a rebel stand
He was just eighteen, proud and brave, but a Yankee laid him in his grave
I swear by the mud below my feet,
You can't raise a Caine back up when he's in defeat

This is hate speech. Were "The Band" Nazi sympathizers? Sounds like it. BAN THEM! Burn the records!

Yes I do. But that doesn't matter. The Confederate South was monolithically evil, and any sympathetic depiction is offensive.
TEAR IT DOWN.

How are those lyrics "hate speech"? Slow down and think before you type... rather than just posting meaningless things.

I'm debating whether or not to link to AJ's thread on the "Using basic terms incorrectly" thread. Your thoughts?

He's already posted his thoughts this morning; he, like the rest of us, thinks you're an idiot.

https://www.bing.com/images/search?...+roof&qpvt=defenestration+from+roof&FORM=IGRE

Wiki says: Defenestration is the act of throwing someone or something out of a window. ... (implying that much of the jumping is out of windows or from roof tops). ...

Let me put this into simple terms for you:

You are an idiot of Trumpian proportion.

You didn't answer my question. How are those lyrics "hate speech", by any definition?

Or are you just making things up again?

It is sympathetic view of a traitorous person and therefore offensive to snowflakes. The protagonist worked on the main Confederate supply line. He was the enemy. The protagonist describes his brother as "proud and brave". He uses the slur 'Yankee" in reference to the Northern Army. The song glorifies the Confederate South and is every bit as offensive as those inanimate statues. What difference does it make anyway? The left is all about revising history and erasing anything that does not comform to their modern viewpoint.

Defenestration has nothing to do with rooftops, real or implied. Nada.

All window, all the time. Made famous by the Defenestrations of Prague (Thanks Hypoxia for mentioning this).

You should probably just try blaming the Left for this, as you seem incapable of coming to terms with your own foibles, or admitting your errors. :rose:

Here's a made-up word you can use, and probably relate to.

I don't think the Isis comparison works for a few of the reasons already stated on this thread.

I believe what we are actually witnessing is a US Year Zero.

In Cambodia, Pol Pot attempted to fulfill Marx's communist ideal state via social engineering. Year Zero gave the Cambodians total control of language (US: corporations must use preferred pronouns or face fines steep enough to put them out of business), destruction of statues and other relics of the past (US: confederate statues), the end of private property (US: redefining marriage to be about "love" and not a partnership in which property is passed down to legitimate heirs) and science/rational thought (US: chromosomes have nothing to do with whether you are a male or female) and course no free speech (US: Google "Hate speech" and it will auto fill the phrase "Hate speech is not free speech" something echoed on social media by useful idiots)

Those who did not comply were met with violence or death (US: "punch a nazi" while in disguise is celebrated as the right thing to do for better good of all... This will escalate quickly) or will be sent to re-education camps* (US: sensitivity training at work, forced public apologies).

In every US example I have given, my left leaning friends (95% of my friends) cheer these things as being necessary to rid the country of "hate" - I suppose they assume their definition of hate will always jibe with whomever dispenses judgment and manages the firing squad. When I say that is short sighted and that their promotion of removing civil liberties will certainly blow up in their faces one day, they question whether I am a nazi sympathizer.

Year Zero is in full swing. Thing is though, the US isnt going to get the end system the useful idiots want. There is a name for what this will be, but I can't remember. I am typing on my phone so I'll look it up later and perhaps write another post about it.

*edit note - I just remembered this started in Vietnam, but it being under a communist regime it still fits

Edited on accident this last time

Fantastic post, LadyF. :rose:

It would be even greater if the other 6 or so guys who talk sense, commented on it.

From the other thread

We've been speculating as to where this is heading if the Progressives are not stood up to. In the more near term, Venezuela, in the longer term either LadyF's scenario or Rand's We, the Living.

If we stand up to them, civil unrest, rioting and possibly some sort of civil war with the military possibly stepping in to restore order which is why the Progressives should take a pause to think about it but they won't. Their gratification must be immediate.

LOL, the examples you provided are either inaccurate (that there is a law that mandates that all US citizens use the correct pronouns) or ludicrous There is no more private property).

This isn't Year Zero or anything even remotely like it, no matter what your friends say or what google autofills.

That's pretty funny though

I can understand disagreeing with me. Still I regret that you won't write a post with actual counter thoughts, and posted this instead.

The entire premise of your post was based on your examples which were either inaccurate, untrue or at best gross exaggerations that don't reflect life in the US. Therefore, your conclusion that this is some kind of Year Zero doesn't work.

What more do you want me to say?

If you people weren't such concrete thinkers, you would be able to engage in a real debate.
And if squashing any potentially uncomfortable discussion right from the start, wasn't your true agenda.
