I've never liked them. Or moonpies or anything with marshmallow where I can identify the marshmallow.

So there.

I like marshmallows alone, but not in anything. Gives me horrors when folk have them in hot chocolate.

Hmmm, I like them toasted. But on their own no way. Same goes for that cheesy marshmallow spread they sell, made me gag.

I will join in on a marshmallow roast by the fire, for the pleasure of burning the nasty lil feckers til they drop in the fire and sizzle into nothingness. I'm a bad person...

Swap the mallows for small children and I'm down with this for an evenings entertainment.

I have never had the traumatic experience of encountering cheesy marshmallow anything. Thank the sweet heavens.

Ever had homemade marshmallow?

Puts that crap in the store to shame.

I'm going to sound a right thick cunt here, but what the hell is in 'em?

Egg whites - whipped.

Syrup made from sugar, water and a bit of corn syrup - boiled to temp.

Gelatin, orange blossom water, vanilla extract - dissolved and added to syrup after it reaches temp.

Then add the gelatin syrup mix to the egg whites and beat the snot out of them until they're big, white and fluffy. Spread them out in a prepared pan.

Fucking awesome deliciousness. My grandmother used to make them.

Christ that's a lot of work. I'd love to try them though.

And keep them the hell away from the sweet potatoes.

The only reason I ever bought marshmallows was to add them to sweet potatoes for my dad. I'd buy the nasty things by the truckload if dad was still here and I could make candied sweet potatoes for him one more time.
