What are you reading today?

And yeah, if you want to tell us, what else is on your bedside table, shelf, basket, chair, laundry hamper, et al, or floor?

Phew! You didn't ask what's IN it. There is no book. My Kindle is downstairs. I have a lamp, tissues, and foot cream. And a rubber band, although I'm not sure why that's there.

A book on sex
A romance novel
A copy of Better Homes And Gardens
A coffee table book on Germany

Priorities!

a cute anime cat coaster
a mug with an inch of room temperature water in it
a handful of loose change from last night

Phew! You didn't ask what's IN it.

Haha, yes, it's what's in the nightstand that is much more... useful. I may document that one day, but it will likely be elsewhere on Lit.

I have a thread for that! 👍

A beautiful white china lamp
An old wedding invitation from a friend
A romantic "used" pillar candle

Denny

What's On Your Nightstand?

A fake antique lamp
A few Kleenex
Dust.

Same on the other side.

A lamp
A stack of books (currently reading the one on top, The King of Casinos: Willie Martello and the El Rey Club by Andy Martello)
Apple Jacks flavored lip balm

a lamp
my kindle
my glasses and case
a couple of already read books and magazines

... oh, and the charger for my phone

I don't have a night stand...

But I do have a floor!

Let's see, a dirty t shirt. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (which I'm making embarrassingly slow progress on), some furniture, a cat...

Alright, so the floor isn't a perfect nightstand substitute.

I snagged a book from my daughter's pile. ;)

Everything That Remains
by Joshua Fields Milburn and Ryan Nicodemus

Specifically, it's about minialmism. But it has a broader application as a way of thinking about life by asking questions like:

*Does X add value to my life?
*Who is the person I want to become?
*How will I define my own success?

Good stuff. :)

Tell us about the book, please? :)

And the cat.:cattail:

I don't have a night stand either. I have a ledge. My Kindle.( I'm reading 77 Shadow St by Dean Koontz. Love this book. It's my second time reading it. )
My phone and charger
Ponytail holders
A pen and journal
A glass of juice
Dust

Sounds like a winner!

I think VT is going to insist that you cough up some details. ;)

Chapter headings, maybe?

While I do believe in Santa, I do not believe the G-spot is real. I've done extensive research in this area (terrible pun) and it's just not true. It's the chupacabra of the vagina.

But as a work of fiction, I'm always interested in a good book.

I love Dean Koontz! I haven't read that one yet, but I've got it. It's probably going to be my next read.

Dean Koontz! I think he wrote a book called Whispers? My first husband read a little to me (I like to be read to.). Nightmares for days.

My bed is next to a fireplace. I have a Rubbermaid tote on top of the hearth.

Romantic and functional!

I love Dean Koontz too! You'll enjoy it. It's great. Have you read The Taking? If not add that one to your list as well.

Yes he did. Also a good one. Phantoms and Hideaway are from around the same time I think. I haven't read one yet I haven't enjoyed.
