and somewhere Harry Carey is smiling.

Chicago, Chicago, that toddlin' town
Chicago, Chicago, I will show you around - I love it
Bet your bottom dollar you'll lose the blues in Chicago
Chicago, the town that Billy Sunday couldn't shut down

On State Street, that great street, I just want to say
They do things they don't do on Broadway
They have the time, the time of their life
I saw a man, he danced with his wife
In Chicago, Chicago, my home town

Chicago, Chicago, that toddlin' town
Chicago, Chicago, I'll show you around - I love it
Bet your bottom dollar you'll lose the blues in Chicago
Chicago, the town that Billy Sunday could not shut down

On State Street, that great street, I just want to say
They do things that they never do on Broadway - hey
They have the time, the time of their life
I saw a man, and he danced with his wife
In Chicago, Chicago, Chicago, that's my home town

Hell has frozen over...now we just need the Red Sox to make it, and face the Cubs in the World Series.

Cubs still need to beat the fish, and the sox still need to beat the A's and then Yankee's. Then hell will be frozen over.

Were all the bats checked? You know that crazy Sosa.... :)

for beating the braves they have my eternal love and gratitude. if i could kiss them i would even if i did get my ass kicked.

I can't remember exactly what Robin Williams said on the Friday, Late Show with Letterman but it was something along the lines of... Everything up on in Heaven would look down on a Cubs BoSox World Series and go "Huh, how'd that happen"...

No, but given that the Cubs have never had playoff success since there's been playoffs, it's at least encouraging.

I think everybody's overlooking Florida, but then, if the Cubs' pitchers can shut down Atlanta's bats, they can take damn near anybody.

I'm 33 years old. I don't remember the 1969 collaps or the 73 collapse. I certainly don't remember the last time they won a post season series, even my folks weren't around in 1908 :) I vividly remember the 84 collapse. I was a true cubs fan by then, even had team trading cards and a cubs jacket, not that I got to wear it much in Mississippi.

I was enchanted with my loveable loosers and even my brothers stopped razzing me too much and just gave me sympathetic looks when thier braves won and my cubbies were mathematically eliminated sometime before the all-star break.

Wait till next year became my mantra and each spring was filled with new hope.

Next year is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watch out Marlins, my loveable loosers are winners finally :)
