Democrats fume over early Gorsuch rulings

A string of decidedly conservative rulings from new Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch has Democratic senators grumbling: We told you so.

During the less than three months he has occupied the late Justice Antonin Scalia's seat on the high court, Gorsuch is sending signals that he could be one of its most conservative jurists. He has often aligned himself with the judicial stalwarts of the right, Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

Gorsuch publicly disagreed with his colleagues' decision to pass up a challenge to the McCain-Feingold law's ban on so-called soft money. He dissented from a ruling enforcing same-sex couple's rights to have their names on their children's birth certificates. He lamented the court's refusal to hear a case about the right to carry a weapon in public. He took a strong stand in favor of churches' right to public subsidies. And he signed an opinion saying he would have allowed President Donald Trump's travel ban to go into effect now, in full.

"We've got another Scalia," declared Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

I have to admit that that is true, and it's a crying shame because we always feel those warm fuzzy feelings of support from the left for our points of view. If only the right would learn from the left the lessons of love, tolerance, inclusion, and how to lose with dignity and grace.

2.5 year. As you know, after that, it's the last year of the sitting president's term. We now know that means he can't nominate a SCOTUS justice. Then the people should get to have their say.

Thomas & Gorsuch are natural American religion libertines. Scalia was somewhat RINO-hindered by his natural catholic statism.

Best thing you can say about Scalia is that, thankfully, even with his papal handicap, he still possessed enough actual Americana to have stood partially in the way of statism tyrannically going even further in this country than it did on his watch.

Trump will get to pick Kennedy's & Ginsburg's successors, with Gorsuch as his standard. That'll make it 5 for America on every ruling, 6 whenever RINO Roberts finds his nads; which leaves the socialist utopians in the exact minority reality naturally assigns them.
