It's spelt colour or coloured.
Nope never put any thought into it. Only had two black guys in high school out of a thousand kids. Never had much reason to think about race and racial issues. And Jamaica was a Commonwealth country so they had every right and reason to emigrate as cousins under the same ruler.

no, it's spelled color. it comes from latin. the french added the u. we've been over this.

It's not. It is the English spelling. As defined in Dr. Johnson's Dictionary of the English Language (1755). And has been the standard English spelling since the 14th century. If you Yanks wish to revert to an antiquated Roman spelling that is your issue. You could probably go back further and adopt a proto-Indo-European version if you wished. Supposedly Sanskrit retains more of the proto language. Maybe you should try using Chaya as the proper spelling for colour.
