Obama and Lynch both knew of russia hacking way before election, but said nothing
Could be trouble for them, Special prosecutor has a lot of power

They knew but a) didn't want to reveal they knew because that would jeopardize their intelligence sources, b) they didn't want to alter the election results one way or the other, and c) how are they in trouble when it was the con artist colluding with the Russians?

So what if Obama and Lynch are in trouble?
They aren't in office anymore. I'm more concerned about the people currently in office.

I'm not coz they haven't committed any criminal acts. But I'd like to see Lynch doing time. Obama too, for that matter, but I can't see the RINO's having the cojones for that.

So then it's not a hoax to explain why Dems lost the election?

Is it a phony made-up witch hunt, or not?

In a nutshell, a few main reasons

1. The O administration was very concerned about compromising sources and methods--particularly, a "source" (spy) inside the Kremlin with direct access to
Putin.

2. Because an election was going on, and they did not want to be seen as interfering/politicizing/intervening in it, particularly when one of those candidates was running around saying the election was "rigged."

3. ETA: Another important reason O did not retaliate until after the election: they had felt that whatever the Russians had done to that point would have no material effect on the election results or integrity of the systems, but they did NOT know there wasn't something much worse up Putin's sleeve.

Just an aside: while Trump, who hasn't done a single thing to address the Russia interference while President, but who now thinks, apparently, it was a terrible thing that Obama didn't do more during the election to "do something," Republicans who were briefed on this from the Gang of Eight were entirely against notifying the public at all (which O did on Oct. 7), or doing a thing about it until the election was over.

Of course, there is another reason:

3. Obama was out in Michelle's garden eating watermelon, wire-tapping Trump, and saying his daily prayers to Allah.

So, for those of us whose computer browser doesn't like frames and pop ups, why don't you quote & post the salient parts of the conclusion.

So, it's revisionist history then. Do nothing, even though you could, and then blame the next guy for the failure. Sounds like normal Washington politics to me.

Query: What do you think Trump should do to stop the Russians from interfering with the 2016 election NOW? I mean, isn't it a bit late to stop them?

2nd Query: How do you KNOW that Trump "hasn't done a thing" over the Russian election interference?

Trump doing something and not bragging about it? Could happen, I suppose.

I think you're the one being revisionist.

Looking back, even though you weren't there and have no clue what they knew, YOU have all the answers now, don't you? What makes you so sure retaliating against Putin in a direct way during October/November 2016 was the correct thing to do--besides listening to your lying Commander in Chief. What makes you so sure? How do you know? I await your great and mighty wisdom.

He needs to get his fat ass in front of the cameras and talk about the integrity of our electronic ballot system! How are the computer systems vulnerable, if so, and WHAT IS BEING DONE to make them more secure? I know I want to know!

That's what they're going for next, everyone knows that.

Well, unlike you, I'm the first to admit I am not omniscient. I'm not inside the Oval Office, and I can't say what the President has done or not, because I'm not him.

However, he's never spoken about it to the American people, and continues to state it was all a hoax.

There have been ZERO reports on anything he's done.

There have been several testimonies under oath in front of Congress by Coats, Rogers, Session and Comey that they've never had a single discussion with Trump about the Russian hacking, and Rogers runs Cybercommand. So clearly Trump is doing squat about it.

Get real, Trump shills. The more the Obama administration had publicly pointed to the Russians messing in the election before election day, the more you would have accused Obama of messing in the election in Hillary Clinton's favor. Try to be honest about that.

And messing in the election didn't have to have anything to do with messing with the ballot boxes. All it had to do was cast as much doubt on Clinton as we all could clearly see about Trump--and to keep potential Clinton voters from the polls in a "don't like either of them" expression of nonvoting. And it worked a charm.

I believe you are the one being revisionist. Obama knew but did NOTHING. HE was CIC, not Trump. It was Obama's job to do. And he failed. Completely and totally.

Obama didn't have to announce that he did anything, he only had to DO something. But he didn't.

Those are the facts. It wasn't up to Trump. It wasn't Trump's call.

But now you want to point to Trump and say that he's not doing anything. Exactly WHAT do you think that Trump could do 10 months later that would stop the election meddling? Unless you have a time machine in your pocket, the answer is nothing.

All Trump can do now is retaliate. Which would set off the cyberwar someone mentioned already. Not a smart move. Yet you insist that he should do something, anything, in order to satisfy your need to prove some intangible. Proof which you will use to show some other facet that will be twisted to put Trump in a bad light.

It's a no win and the only smart move is to not play Moscow's, game. Unless you want to foment turmoil and start a war. So, is that your goal here?

Obama didn't do "nothing." Just drop the shell game of taking attention off the present by making up things about the past.

It's not really up to Trump, nor was it up to Obama.

The EAC was created by congress and they'd have to be the ones to require standards to keep the election systems secure.
But I'll be surprised if that happens because the Right will no doubt start screaming "federal overreach" and "states rights."

You do realize, I hope, you contradicted yourself there.

Do you have any thoughts of your own in your head, or do you wait every day for a Tweet to tell you what to think?

Were you upset about the Russian interference last week? I thought it was a hoax?

Trump does a 180 because he will do ANYTHING to score points off Obama, no matter how ludicrous, no matter how much he contradicts or undermines himself, and all a sudden, you all are upset about Russia, like sheep. Baa baa baa baa.

Your sudden "outrage" is actually pretty hilarious. You're just demonstrating how totally mind controlled all you freaks are. Your heads are spinning so fast with his lies and bullshit you literally don't know where or who you are anymore. Tell me what to think, Glorious Leader, please tell me!

I've already spelled out clearly three good reasons Obama waited until AFTER THE ELECTION to retaliate. You have yet to explain why it would have been a better idea to go public and go after Putin directly BEFORE the election. Because you don't know. All you know is your psycho leader tweeted something.

I don't know why you're blathering on about who is CIC. I never said Trump should have done something before he was inaugurated, did I?

But now that he is CIC AND THERE'S NO GODDAMNED ELECTION GOING ON, what's his excuse, since he cares so very very much about it now????

He's done nothing as CIC. Not a thing. Doesn't care. Never asked about it. Meets with Russians in the Oval Office and doesn't say a thing about the hacking. Perfect chance. We do know Obama spoke to Putin and told him to "cut it out," at least. Trump, on the other hand, laughed with the Russians and called the person investigating their interference "a nutjob."

So prepare yourself. Dumbass is going to Tweet something stupid next week calling it all a phony hoax witch hunt again, and then what will you do?

Don't worry, I'll remind you how upset you are about it now.

To be fair, most Presidents do that. Kick the can down the road.....

LOOK! Squirrel!

It's amazing how apologetic you get when challenged on the facts. And when that happens your first instinct is to deflect.

It was Obama's call. He did NOTHING.

He could have ordered some counter cyber attacks to shut down the hackers. Did he? NO. He could have picked up the hotline to Moscow and told Putin he knew. Did he? NO again. He could have told the Russian Ambassador that unless he told his government to stop attempting to meddle, he would levy sanctions against them. Did he? NO once more.

Note that NONE OF THAT would have meant him "going public" before the election.

But you don't even consider that. Instead you deflect to "mind control" and "Trump is CIC now" as if that matters at all to what happened LAST SUMMER under Obama's watch.

I ask you again, what do you think Trump can do now to STOP the attacks that occurred last summer? The answer is still nothing. All he can do is retaliate and prepare to defend against it happening again. But rather than see that, you get angry and deflect.

Screaming "LOOK! Squirrel!" doesn't change history. Or facts.

Here are the facts.

He did talk to Putin, and told him to "cut it out." And guess what? He did.

This is not an argument about "getting Russia to stop." They DID stop, once Obama called Putin on it. The issue is, WHY DIDN'T HE PUNISH HIM WITH SANCTIONS UNTIL AFTER THE ELECTION?

I have no problem with Obama's decision. Some other Dems do. I have no issues with it. Obama got bin laden. I trust him on National Security. Feel free to disagree. But don't peddle a story that this is about anything but the punishments.

I don't know how many times I can say this. I never said Trump could have or should have done ANYTHING prior to Jan. 20th. I'm not asking him to stop attacks that already happened. I am asking what he's doing NOW to prevent any in the future. Is that so hard to understand?

The "mind control" is about you Trump drones suddenly doing a 180 on something you dismissed as a hoax, until a few days ago. That's mind control. You didn't care. Didn't give a flying fart that he had Russians on the Oval Office. Didn't care about the Congressional investigations. Said it was all a witch hunt. Some of you were saying Russia is great, wonderful!

Now, your Glorious Leader has tweeted, and now it's all bad, bad, oh, so bad, that bad, terrible Obama. Russia bad, bad. We got hacked, oh my GOD!

Trump rolls over and grunts in his sleep, and you drones follow like sheep, pretty simple.

You don't care and you don't understand. If Dumbass tells you what to think, you follow.

It's actually pretty hard to understand when it's buried in biased rants, hurled epithets, and couched in foul language.

But, now that you actually said it, I think that you're still misstating the facts.

Trump seems to be talking to Putin and Putin seems to be listening. The DHS and all the related agencies seem to be taking the forefront in preventing further cyber incursions. At least I haven't heard of any since January. Am I mistaken?

Nope, just did a search, nothing. No Russian hacking activity.

Just because there's no news about it doesn't mean they aren't doing something about it. Remember, it IS classified stuff.

Unless you're counting on the leakers to let us know what's going on behind the scenes? Is it the fact that leaks aren't happening that's got you so upset?

Funny how that works.

Funny how that works.

Yes it is. And often not to the best laid plans of those who run around screaming that the sky is falling.

So, we have empirical evidence that the Russians aren't still hacking because no incursions have been reported. Meanwhile we have hard evidence Obama knew but didn't act.

Of the 2, which is better?
