So, how does it end? Who survives?
The one thing predictable about the Coen brothers is that the good guys win. Who are the good guys besides Gloria? Who sent the books to the IRA?
Most important to me, does Nikki survive?

I assume Nikki got the books from Vargas' truck.
I predict that in the final scene, Gloria and her son are finishing supper in a diner, and the waitress brings them each a slice of cocoanut cream pie and says, "This is from that lady"and they look at the next booth and there is no one there. The camera pulls back and we see Nikki in the parking lot. She gets into a mint condition red Corvette and drives away.
umm, not really. more often than not they just end back where they started changed and often having suffered at least some kind of loss.
Probably Nikki got the books or Emmit before he turned himself in. Does Emmit survive? Does Gloria become Chief? What happened with Gloria and Winnie? Was that romance? What changed about her from that hug to cause her to be seen? How do they tie in the introduction from 1988 West Berlin? How does (what's her name) Mrs. Goldfarb fit in?
We saw Nikki taking what looked him a briefcase fro the truck, I assume that was the info she gave the IRS.
Gloria became "real" because Winnie was the first person to really listen to her. I didn't see anything romantic in the interaction between them.
I have no idea how the Berlin scene fits.
I don't think Mrs. Goldfarb is in cahoots with Vargas, but I suspect she knows who he is,and is hovering like a vulture, knowing that wherever he goes he leaves wreckage in his wake, and she believes she may profit from picking over the remains.
The reason I thought that there was a possibility for romance is because Gloria had no other romance or even flirting. I understand the part of Gloria being seen by Winnie and always suspected that her phenomenon of not being seen by sensors tied into the robot.
Do you think that the Coen brothers are drawing a parallel with allegations of Russian money laundering? When they blew up a computer network just from visiting their site, I figured Russian state. As powerful and ruthless as they are I don't imagine Mrs. Goldfarb challenging them.
The ending blew chunks. First off, Nikki should've lived. That mistake led to everything else going to shit.
The only redeeming thing out of this season's mess is that Wrench lived.

Nikki was my heroine. (Mary Elizabeth Winstead is my dream girl)
But she was allowed to survive her ordeal in the woods so that she would fight evil (Vargas) and instead, she went after personal revenge (Emmitt) and that's why she died. The Bowling Alley Man, whoever he is (God, or Fate or whatever) withdrew his protection from her.
So, she lived fast, died young and left a good looking corpse. OK then.
I was hoping for a spinoff called The Adventures of Swango and Wrench.
Yeah, what you said makes sense. But Nikki was supposed to live, dammit!![]()
Honestly, they were the most fun part of this season.
