The difference between extremists / terrorists and a militia is that one seeks to protect while the others only seek to destroy.
Not in practice, no.

Or else what? MORE violence from the left? Do you really think that will win hearts as you advocate by NOT DENOUNCING the killing and slaughtering of people in the name of tolerance?
Nut up yourself.
Letting a little more oxygen back into the room would require you to shut up and stop filling it with CO2. Do your part, go and infect the Blurt Thread.
Get rid of Trump (For Pence that you anx the shooter will hate more) so there are "outlets for the escalating tension?"
Or so you Trump haters will not escalate your "tension?"
I was never a fan of somebody so left-wing As Trump but the fact that he can send you who used to sound like a reasonably rational human being into such an apoplectic flight of hystetia, is 100% worth it.
Between condescending dismissal and outright vitriol the left got Trump elected and they're going to get him re-elected.
Trump has no particular political center or spine. If you guys had simply appealed to the New York liberal that he is and treated him with even a modicum of respect he would already be playing for your team.
As long as his name is on it in big, gold letters, he would eagerly sign a Trumpcare legislation that is Obamacare on steroids with even more money more subsidies and more benefits.
Hey Nimrod, ya' left out Da' Nooge!! Ya' know, the guy that got investigated by the Secret Service for threats?
Ah yes, Madonna. The person without whose permission "the left" dares not make a move.![]()
YOU don't know shit from Shinola. The stated purpose of the militia is to defend the nation.
Article 1, Sec 8 of the US Constitution:
The organization of the Militia:
The purpose of the Militia:
So, Mr. Zippybullshitter; explain to us plebeians how the ORGANIZED militia is dissimilar to the US military and the UNORGANIZED militia similar to rioters when their purpose is to SUPPRESS insurrection (riots in today's parlance)?
For utter bullshit you take the cake. Worse than Oreo ever was.

Good find! I imagine there would have been a treasure trove of old Vette posts to pull from if he hadn't inexplicably gone into hiding with his tail between his legs.
Unfortunately, I expect we will see more of this. We're extremely polarized right now, and I only see it getting worse. I do not see any outlets for the escalating tension, so we're in this pressure cooker with increasingly radicalized fringe factions. The rethuglicans need to nut up and take Trump out of the picture. The man is pure, indefensible poison in a system that's in poor health as it is. Let a little oxygen back into the room.

By the end of his 2nd term, Obama was the most polarizing president in American history.
Crazed rednecks dressed in fatigues with shootin' irons ain't a 'militia'. The National Guard is a 'militia'.
What "practice" (events) do you claim involved the organized or unorganized militia attempting to invade the US, incite insurrection, or refusing to enforce the laws of the Nation?
Because I've never seen or heard of it anywhere. I've never seen "the militia" organize to riot, burn or loot either.
I HAVE seen them called up to suppress those things, but not to participate in them.
Or, are you suggesting that the use of violence to stop or prevent violence is equal? And, therefore, the National Guard when assisting in the suppression of a riot are themselves engaging in riotous behavior?

Apparently you suck at reading comprehension. Go back and read the quote from the Milita Act. Don't skip the part where it says that the militia includes all able bodied males from 17 to 45.
Now, stress your pea-bain to wonder what that means exactly when someone says "The Militia". Hint: It ain't ONLY the National Guard.
Ah yes, Madonna. The person without whose permission "the left" dares not make a move.![]()
Wow. You've outdone yourself this time, Tim. Next time someone asks me what Dunning-Kruger is, I'll just point them to this post.
By the end of his 2nd term, Obama was the most polarizing president in American history.
I also like this new "you didn't DENOUNCE it so you support it!" bullshit.
How fucked up do you have to be assume that if you don't say "that was bad" every time something horrible happens, you support it? What kind of ugly world are you living in, and what kind of ugly people are you listening to?
Oh look! It's another chickenshit RW alt! Who's surprised?
By the end of his 2nd term, Obama was the most polarizing president in American history.
Are you disagreeing with my statement about Obama?
Whereas Trump only needed 2 weeks.![]()
America's existing problems are simply a continuation of what Obama started & are being continued by a vindictive mainstream media with the blessings for Schumer, Pelosi, et al.

I'm ignoring your obvious and idiotic deflection, but if you're really bored, you're welcome to work on making the case that the US was more polarized in 2016 than 1861. We'd all love to see it.
A Gallup poll released Wednesday shows that former President Obama's approval ratings are easily the most polarized in modern American history, with Democrats rating him highly and Republicans rating him poorly.
"Throughout his presidency, Barack Obama averaged 83% job approval among Democrats and 13% among Republicans," reports Gallup. "That 70-percentage-point party gap in job approval ratings easily eclipses the prior high — 61 points for George W. Bush.
This is not "violence from the left." There was no "killing and slaughtering." Stop lying and twisting reality to fit your talking points.
This was an extremist nutjob who committed an act of political violence. Thank god no one else died. It is my belief that until the political and social climate improves, this will keep happening. I think it would be a great improvement if our president were not a corrupt, lying maniac whose favorite pastimes include twitter, nepotism, and nursing grudges. Only a fool, hypocrite, or coward would disagree.
I don't believe for a second that Kathy Griffin was advocating violence. I think she made a horrible joke that was over the line and should be condemned for poor taste, not for extremism.
