Just goes to show how different people are. I'm 3 seasons into Gotham and still not impressed.

I think it is because Flash and Supergirl isn't high on my hero list. And of course Gotham is holding my attention fast with the lady playing Barbara Keane...ouchuahua... Yes I haven't looked up her name yet lol. But the hair and eye combo is just perfect imo

I think I should start fishing about. I hear that The Punisher series isn't half bad

The Netflix Punisher series isn't out yet, but if you watch Daredevil, Frank is a huge part of Season 2!

Bat in the sun

Superhero Beatdown

Punisher vs Red Hood... Oh yeah...

"Don't be silly Frank, what are you going to do? Shoot me? I'm not the one with my head and arms exposed."

Heh! Loved it

Of course any fan fiction I enjoy, I also enjoy writing fan fiction. Like the Friday the 13th story I am currently working on.

But my time and attention is focused on a Hentai medieval fantasy RP choose your own adventure story and to get rid of this darned flu.

This is one of those times when a series cast the right actor for the part. They get it wrong a lot, but when they get it right...wow.

Shooting cherry trees.

Your tax dollars at work.

I can't tell if George Washington would be proud or pissed.

People can feel free to wrap up what they're doing in Seattle in as few or as many posts as they think they need to, but I don't see the particular need to play out the diner scene with the milkshakes or the clean-up efforts unless people really want to. I do kind of dig that slice of life stuff, but I don't want people to feel obligated.

We've got a lot to accomplish in the "downtime" this time.

What do people think?

Should we play stuff out in the thread this time, or do JPs like before, or a mix of the two? Who would prefer what?

I need to write down all the downtime arcs we need to play out and get them organized in my head. Been meaning to do that for weeks, hopefully I'll get to do that this weekend.

I liked that!

I also liked the tons of asskicking ladies of color!

Particularly Angela Basset with those white braids looking more like Storm than Halle Berry ever did...

don't know the actress, lady in red doing some hot moves and making me purr louder. she can kick some ass. and be hot doing it.

Rough draft of the Static Replacement

After brainstorming with Chas...seems like this guy can fill your lost "static" and be ready to aid John in Outsiders at a semi-future date. Rough draft. I didn't see anyone else post a character for the static replacement...but i might have missed it.

Alter Ego – Grimsby Newcastle

Alias – Grim / Grub / Resonance

Appearance
Grim is pale and skinny twenty something. His hair is shaggy and could be shoulder length but it's usually in state of greasy, bed head. This includes his eyebrows which look like a Mentat's. He still wears large black glasses even though he no longer needs them. He favors a gray hoodie and blue jeans with neon blue, tennis shoes. He wears a calculator watch on his left wrist. His face is less unshaven, so much as his facial doesn't grow past two inches. His posture still has the hunched shoulder look of a long night code monkey. His teeth aren't perfect. His ears jut out like Shrek's. He snorts when he laughs and picks at his cuticles. He does enjoy cracking his knuckles.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mentat <-Brad Dourif as the "twisted" Mentat Piter De Vries in David Lynch's Dune (1984)

Personality
He is a ramen with a single egg kind-of-guy.

It was always a challenge to find like-minded individuals who could keep up with his relentless intellectualism and chess-like maneuvering. He is imaginative yet decisive, ambitious yet private, amazingly curious, but hates wasting his energy. He can come off as abrupt or acerbic, because he loves sarcasm and cutting people off when it's obvious where they are going.

"You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant." - Harlan Ellison

It started off as a thirst for knowledge that pushed away what friends he had made in grade school. He was obsessed with books and learning when his mind turned on for the first time during puberty. He is tireless in pursuing things he wants to know and ensuring he has a mastery of them. He prefers to design and execute a brilliant plan within his area of expertise rather than share opinions on “uninteresting” distractions like gossip.

He thrives on a paradox that seems on the surface comprised of glaring contradictions that nonetheless make perfect sense – at least from a purely rational perspective. For example, he is simultaneously the most starry-eyed idealists and the bitterest of cynics, a seemingly impossible conflict. But this is because he believes that with effort, intelligence and consideration, nothing is impossible, while at the same time they believe that people are too lazy, short-sighted or self-serving to actually achieve those fantastic results.

Rules, limitations and traditions are anathema to Grim – everything should be open to questioning and reevaluation. If he sees a way, he will act unilaterally to enact his technically superior, insensitive, and unorthodox ideas.

He radiates a self-confidence and an aura of mystery, and his insightful observations, original ideas and formidable logic enable him to push change through with sheer willpower and force of personality. At times it seems that he is bent on deconstructing and rebuilding every idea and system that he comes into contact with, employing a sense of perfectionism and even morality to this work. Anyone who doesn’t have the talent to keep up with him, or worse yet, doesn’t see the point of them, is likely to immediately and permanently lose his respect.

Gear (optional)
Calculator Watch. It's the seat of his fourth self and home to a slew of technology. It can project an electronic force shield that negates high velocity ballistics (but ignores slow moving objects). It also can manipulate the optics in a two foot sphere around it, which can be used to render holographics or create photo realistic illusions. It also stores a colony of nanobots ("Little Gods" that can be used to harvest or modify inorganic compounds that he places his left hand on.

Hoodie. His hoodie is created out of carbon nanotubes and very durable, light weight, and resistant to slashing attacks. It has 50 times the measured strength of carbon steel, 17 times stronger than Kevlar, and 4 times tougher than spider silk. It can act as a super conductor (a current can flow without decay indefinitely) or as a semiconductor (enhancing computative abilities).

HUD. His glasses are a heads up display that he can share with someone if he wants to keep in contact with them at long range. They also allow him to focus photons into laser beams or function as a audiovideo capture and enhance with multi-spectrum support.

Power/ability
He is a technomancer, an enlightened magus bound to technology as much as the occult. Through the order of electrons and photons, he is able to bend technology to his will. He can enhance or hack it. He can create sprites, semi-autonomous independent intelligence. He can draw electricity into himself and store vast quantities of it in his hoodie. His body is able to store quite a bit, but his hoodie is his super battery.

He can use occult spells and rituals to manipulate electricity (e.g. Lightning bolts, chain lightning, plasma balls, lasers, etc). And he can manipulate photons (e.g. Illusions).

The "Little Gods" that have taken residence inside of him have altered his body. They fixed minor imperfections and work extra hard to maintain hemostasis. They've covered his brain and intestines in neural sheaths, which functionally gives him three component selves. Through ritual, tinkering, and the Deep Resonance, a fourth self (wholly digital) lives in his watch. All four communicate through the electrical field in and around his body (e.g. Personal Area Network, PAN). Also the "Little Gods" can transmute inorganic substances to something else, so long as Grim has the appropriate template in his knowledge store. The Deep Resonance is where he learned the the ones he knows: watch, hoodie, and glasses. This is really a safety measure (e.g. preventing a grey goo scenario). They only function within Grim's PAN.

Through a combination of his magic and the Little Gods, he can manipulate and communicate with most technology within his PAN.

Weakness – He is addicted to technology. He would go through withdraw symptoms worse than a heroine addict if somehow "cut-off" from it all (e.g. EMP or thrown into The Green). He has fast healing and very difficult to kill (e.g. 4 selves), but he isn't invulnerable.

Background

Grim was one of several amateur mages who joined with John Constantine as part of the colloquially named Newcastle Crew. In 1998, they learned of a purported demonic possession taking place at the Casanova Club in the borough of Newcastle and sought to lend their services. The exorcism failed terribly, and the crew disbanded shortly thereafter.

Grim feel into a coma and came into contact with the Deep Resonance, which is one of the Lords of Order. Order was always appealing to Grim, because he'd always been drawn to ritual and code. He submersed himself in emerging cyber world growing out of the internet and the rise of personal computers.

From the Deep Resonance he learned how to manipulate electrons and photons, the corner stone of all modern and future computation. The by-product of being chosen by the Deep Resonance was that he awoke something in the heart of Jupiter. While he was still in his coma, the Jupiter's Tears happened. Spreading across the British Isles, glittering diamond-like substance rained down. They were in fact "Little Gods" (e.g. nanobots). Grim's hospital window was open and some of them fell upon him. Many people were killed by the "infestation" when they proved to be poor hosts. Others that took to them couldn't keep them alive.

Through the Deep Resonance, Grim could draw upon electronics and photons and recharge the Little Gods inside of himself. He worked with them to restore his body and remake some technology based upon insights granted to him by the Deep Resonance.

Since then, he helped Doctor Fate until he disappeared. He's been a lifelong "friend" of Constantine's, pulling that guys ass out of the fire more often than John's lent a hand to pull him out. The only thing that keeps Grim in John's orbit is the fact that it was John who left the window open in the hospital that let the Little Gods into his room in the first place. John got his Fourth Self killed on more than one occasion hacking into various cults like the Tongues of Fire and the Defense Department Intelligence. The later resulted in some jail time followed by being forced to work as a CI for the DDI. Thanks John.

Grim is mostly a hero. He is currently being forced to help Agent Marx and Boyajian assess a potential threat left over from Kobra's terrorist attack.

JP?

Supergirl...that show just... *sighs* I got through season 1 and started watching season 2 and I just can't seem to bring myself to finish it. Everyone's just kind of flattened into forgettable moments in that show if they're not acting dumb as a box or rocks.

I really like Gotham for the most part, but I've missed a lot of it in the past year.

Latest superhero thing I've seen is Wonder Woman. I have nitpicking about some of the choices for that movie, but I liked it and I'm really glad it's doing well in theaters.

Black Panther looks hella awesome!

I'm also excited for Cloak and Dagger, X-MEN: The Gifted, and The Defenders.
