A House panel led by Reps. Mike Conaway (R-Texas) and Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) sent a letter on Friday to White House counsel Don McGahn demanding the release of any "tapes" of conversations between Comey and Trump. The president first suggested the existence of such tapes after Comey revealed that he wrote memos of his private conversations with Trump leading up to his firing.

The Senate group requested the memos from Professor Daniel Richman, the friend Comey gave his notes to, and the House group requested any memos still in Comey's possession.

Schiff and Conaway provided a deadline of June 23.

For his part the con artist, after first saying he hoped tapes existed, then suggesting he had tapes, has now said he'll decide if he'll release the tapes.

“I’ll tell you about that maybe sometime in the near future."

It's put up or shut up time, and the con artist is vowed and determined to go down in flames.

Trump is digging his hole deeper and deeper. " Show me the Tapes!" Now he better hope he has some that aren't "18 minutes of hiss."

I'm picking one of 3 outcomes:

The tapes don't actually exist.
The tapes are not released but edited transcripts are. As per Nixon and Watergate
The tapes will be found to be faulty and not usable.

Trump simply thought that becoming President meant being on TV 24/7 like The Truman Show. He directed everyone else out of the room so he could have a two-person scene.

They don't exist. It was another thing the idiots just blurted out. So now its produce tapes or look like a liar yet again.

The best thing about this is a Republican demanding this. If that group of self centered jackals can realize that they have a better hope to keep their jobs and faith of their voters is to rid this country of Trump then we'll be all set.

Apparently some of these conversations were just asides with other people present. Just a quite word while most folk are on the far side of the OO.

Most of the stuff being accused of and investigated is subtle shit. No blatant demands for cash. No explicit demands for loyalty on danger of dismissal. A look and words NOT said can say as much as a demand for cash and a solemn pledge.

Think of the conversations you have in front of your kids. What you can say with innuendo and a look to keep kids (hopefully, perceptive lil' bastards at times).

The 'demand' for loyalty may have occurred by the grandfather clock in the OO with others out of earshot.

Won't be tapes; will be digital files, audio or A/V, from somebody's cellphone. Tromp won't have any recordings himself. He had too much experience with NYC mafiosi to pull such a dummy trick. But anyone meeting DJT had better be recording, for self-defense.
