So if homosexuality is peccatum contra naturam ("sin against nature") by Christian theology (Abrahamic tradition religions) why does homosexuality exist among animals who are innocent of sin? It would seem that homosexuality is indeed a natural occurrence.

Animals are not innocent of sin. They have a sin nature too because when Adam sinned it came upon the whole world. Even the earth, stars, ect. are under sin's curse. It's not natural for males to be attracted to males or females to be attracted to females. Psychologists have always diagnosed homosexuality as a mental disorder. Only recently is there a push back from the gay community on this and many psychologists are caving. The reason given for the attraction seems to have something to do with a poor relationship between the child and their parent of the same sex as they are. A boy with a poor relationship with his father may have an increased risk of developing these feelings. It's also a statistical fact that children raised by homosexual parents are 10x more likely to become gay their selves. Interesting statistic since the gay community says it's not a choice.

God doesn't promise to answer every single question we have. We walk by faith. Many times after you show your faith in God, He will choose a time to reveal the answer to you. He always ends up being right after all.
