Yes, please. Though I only had three and getting back to work after that was horrific. Let's win the lottery and not work anymore. Sounds sensible.
The economic principles that result in subsidies killing off a competing country's profits and productivity is true for Haiti, but not the US?
We should stop subsidizing rice to benefit the Haitians and allow Canadian subsidies to help the Canadians? What if we just decide to be selfish and do what benefits Americans because that's what Canada and every other country on the planet does?

You've been using public money to fund private enterprise since WAY before FDR. Given the propensity for American political figures to lie... surely you're intelligent enough to realize that finger-points are ridiculous, on your part?
I'm afraid that American interests ALWAYS come first, and The Orange Whackjob is only being a bit less subtle than the norm.
So, don't cry "unfair practices" at anyone else. Ffs!
Agree. America, and every other country seeks to gain advantage over others. Individual industries benefit from this to a greater or lesser extent dependent upon their individual pull with those in power. Which involves money and its inherant corruption, of course.
I'm responding to Hard Rom whingeing about how we are so unfair to the poor Haitians but yet it's perfectly fine for the Canadiens to be unfair to American logging interests.
He also argues that Canadians make a superior product and somehow argues that they to continue their practices help to reduce the price of their superior product in the marketplace.
Neither of his positions make any logical sense.
My personal view is there's no such thing as unfair practices. For example if China wants to exploit their workers for the benefit of our consumers I'm all for
The thing is, Canada is not being unfair. They just have a cheaper product. The lumber industry is not subsidized.
The American lumber industry is having a tough time competing so the are pulling political favors to get unfair duties put on the Canadian product.
4 times now the world trade organization has sided with Canada and yet the US still applies duties.
We are working towards selling our lumber to China and others and pretty soon you will have to pay a premium to access our product. But its only for housing and most of you live in trailers anyway so it only matters to the rich
Jalapeño spicy or ghost pepper spicy?
